Since we're a new review site there are some albums we'd like to review for this first month even though the album is from last year. So the album start with a guitar melody marvelously played by Victor Smolsky (Rage's new guitarist). What a blast ! After 20 seconds I was bouncing against the walls. A very nice composed album and certainly Mind Odyssey's most mature album. What I really love when I listen to this album is that no track is actually the same. Okay they're only 8 tracks but they are 8 completely different tracks from standard heavy metal to progressive metal passing by fast paced melodic metal. The overall is very good : solo parts are terrific, the voice is pretty good, there is a resemblance with Ralf Scheepers (well of course never that good, but well Ralf is that kind of guys like Hansi... difficult to match) and still somehow reminds me Dream Theater on some songs. Speaking of Ralf, the 6th song of the album (Born Bastard) sounds a lot to me like some Primal Fear tunes. As for the guitar I hope that Peavy Wagner (Rage) will let Victor compose some songs in the next Rage albums, because after what I heard in "Signs" and after seeing Victor playing in live with Rage twice, I can assure you that this guy knows how to play guitar. A "gonna buy" album !

Killing Songs :
Men Of No Return, In The Picture, Welcome Demon.
