I was anticipating this one with impatience ! The mini CD "Waiting For" out a year ago now had totally left me begging for more with its 2 songs only. And here comes a true album in order to kick some asses in the Geneva metal scene. Yep, far away from hardcore-thrash-death, the 5 souls of Angel smile are throwing us something totally different. Friends of Dream Theater and other Spock's Beard, be happy because Geneva found its representant in the style.

The 8 songs are really excellent (except maybe the 2nd one : Complain Of The Bat which I find too jazzy) and they certainly deserve to be checked out. It has to be noted that Angel Smile did record everything on their own and that doesn't give them an ultimate sound (that's why I prefer not to put a quote), but its still better than many other self-produced demo I heard so far.

From the excellent Drown In Anger, the beautiful ballad Little Forest or even the very nice Time are songs that are impressive and they have nothing to envy from the big prog stars ! Its really unfortunate that such a band, able that can easily ensure 2 hours live without difficulty haven't signed with any label yet (personally I would see them touring as openers for Dream Theater).

My advice is that we all go to church on Sunday morning and pray that they find a label. Be sure to check their website.
