After the 5 songs promo, here comes the full record. I guess you have already read lots of reviews and interviews about this new Megadeth The World Needs A Hero. After two "experimental" records (Risk, Cryptic Writings), Megadeth is back to the roots. You might thing its is a typical "cliché" nowadays for bands who felt in disgrace in the 90's (Halford, Iron Maiden and now Megadeth). I agree ! On the other hand, once you pushed the play button, your head start to move naturally upside down and you immediately understand that Dave Mustaine is back ... back for good I hope. Risk, which speaks form itself, was an alien in Megadeth's discography and with Marty Friedman leaving the band, Megadeth was about to split. Thanks to Dave and the boss of Metal-Is, this World Needs A Hero is the only answer the crowd could expect. A bombastic album ... that even Megadeth's fans could not even dream of. Who said Resurrection ? New member Al Pitrelli (ex-Savatage) is doing a great job. Is he one of the "secret weapons" that makes The World Needs A Hero a very good record ? I let you judge by yourself, but personally ... I rather say yes. The mascot (Vic Rattlehead) is also back on the cover art (finally !!!). I will not bother you with thousand of "magical" words. Let's be as simple as possible. If you are a Megadeth fans, this is simply one, if not the best one, up to date Megadeth album. Clever song writing, excellent riffs and tones of hits. For our readers who still don't know them (hic !), this is the best way to start. This one is a must have ! Simple as that. Let's hope Megadeth is now able to delivers such good album ... twice in a row. |
