After the excellent Sonic Dynamite last year, I was really eager to listen to more Pink Cream 69. A band I start listening to while Andi Deris was still there, before he rejoined Helloween (which are now facing the problem of members leaving). Endangered is a pretty good album, although it's inferior than its predecessor as far as I'm concerned. The album contains a few killer tracks like Promised Land that strangely sounds a lot like Royal Hunt (Paradox legacy), or the excellent Trust The Wiseman, Enslaved, High As A Mountain or the square to the bones He Took The World. The album also contains a few medium tracks then and there. Some songs are a bit "radio-oriented" like Bon Jovi would write them, but the overall is very catchy and should please the fans of the band. Some excellent guitar parts in forms of strong and catchy riffs with some majestic melodies and very nice solos (I really love the warm sound of the guitars). The overall is a bit less heavy than there previous work too. My only complain would be that it doesn't sound that original, except maybe for a few songs. The production is pretty good and the artcover is really nicely done (and kind of funny too). Maybe not the most original album and not their best neither, but still a good one to add to the Pink Cream collection, one of the few bands you can usually buy blindly from. I still don't own a single album from them that I regret I bought, and that my friends is a trademark for good bands. For all fans of melodic Hard-Rock like Bon Jovi or Axxis, or even the Royal Hunt old days (getting a bit progressive lately), this one's for you guys ! |
