With Flotsam and Jetsam, thirty years of music, some very highs and some lows, the band has found a way to move on. With Eric A.K. on vocals the band's voice has always remained the same. Seventh Seal the first track, brings back memories of their earlier albums(No Place For Disgrace/Doomsday For The Deceiver) yet bring the production into a modern day. Other songs may bring Cuatro(the band's most commercial release to date) to mind, and other songs are purely Flotsam and Jetsam for 2016.
With songs like Life Is A Mess,Taser, L.O.T.D, Monkey Wrench, Forbidden Territories, the classic early Thrash that was Flotsam and Jetsam, with their speedy galloping headbang worthy riffs yet always a sense of melody shines through with these songs. There really isn't a slow song per say, but these are songs, that if put into a live show, would definitely get a moshpit going. Other tracks could be found on later releases such as The Cold. A modern mix of grooves and melody, songs like Verge of Tragedy and Creeper are perfect examples of this. For me the stand out songs are the aptly sounding and title, Iron Maiden. Whether influenced by the band in question, this is one of hell a song, and performance by Eric A.K. This guy can definitely sing, as well and yell in key! The dual guitar work is phenomenal on this song, as well the entire disc. Iron Maiden, Time To Go(might just be one of my favorite F&J songs ever!). Melodic, heavy, amazing guitar work of this song and Smokin Gun are my favorites.

This is probably one of the shortest reviews I have ever written here, but there really isn't a lot to say. If you love thrash metal, and whether you have followed the band or coming into this new, you will definitely find a lot to like here. With this release, and signing with legendary label, AFM Records, this can only be the start of something great for the band, and hopefully worldwide touring.
