not for me. I actually liked the 80s version (even tho it was a bit popped up). Eye to Eye i can listen to all the way thru. For me it is unbreakable that I cant seem to ever get into, but to each its own. Of course there is not doubt the 70s scorps is simply killer. It basically boils down to their true "ART" before the recording industries start to tamper with everything. You get the idea. Having said that, they still manage to write great songs even while up in age and having to cater to every labels "wants" and "needs"
I do see where you r coming from tho. Alot of people dislike the "over the top" 80s sounding scorps
For me Pure Instinct and Eye to Eye are killer mainly because I love power ballads and they are loaded with them. off Eye to Eye I get the old scorps vibe in a 80s production with songs like "yellow butterfly" and "skywriter"
