Halo 3 is pretty weaksauce, but Halo, Halo 2, Halo ODST are all great and the new Halo Reach looks pretty awesome.
Halo 1 is the only really, really great Halo game. The rest are close to greatness but the magic of the first game isn't there. I have very high hopes for Reach though.
I don't get things like this. You'd rather play Halo 1 than Halo 3? Although Halo 2 and Halo 3 is probably is one of the only examples where I'd say the sequel was the lesser of the two games, they're both huge upgrades over Halo 1 in terms of gameplay. Like, Super Smash Bros. was a great game for its time and I loved it, but I can't even play it anymore because it's so much worse than Melee and Brawl.
