I have sympathy for the Palestinan cause. Much more so than most of the other brainwashed, zionist jews I went to school with. I understand that there are no winners in war, shit is fucked. I've never been to Gaza, and I'm sure life there is simply awful and I don't wish it on anybody. But I have been to Israel, so I'll say this.
With regards to your comment before of "flys picking at Israel" I'll say this. My grandparents - my dad's parents - live in Israel. They live in Kibbutz Mefalsim, which is a couple of kilometres outside Gaza. I've been to visit them a few times. Hearing rockets constantly explode nearby is a pretty terrfying thing. When I was 18, I was there and a rocket landed inside the Kibbutz. No one was killed or even injured, but the windows of practically every house in the Kibbutz exploded, and the sound was one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. As I said, no one was injured, so yeah, you could say that's a fly picking at Israel. The reality though, is the people who live on that Kibbutz, some of whom have been there for 3 generations, are living in fear. Just because that rocket didn't hurt anybody, they don't know if the next one will kill their son, brother, uncle, etc. I've felt that fear, it was palpable.
If you have a nation living in fear, any government worth it's salt is going to try to do something to make its citizens feel safer. The result is fucked up, there's no doubt about that, and I would never argue the contrary. But as I said before, I'm quite sure my government and your government would do the same thing.
