And I should look into John Zorn. You're using the same tactics my dad used with Morrissey, you know. His photo, albums, songs, whatever just kept showing up everywhere I turned and eventually you're thinking "Fuck, alright! I'll listen to one song. ONE SONG! And that's it!" And then you're hooked. I'm seeing the same pattern here and it's going to work, you just watch.

Faustian Echoes is worth $6. But that Altar of Plagues album, at least the first track, is fucking amazing.

If you want my advice, the first step towards Zorn's huge body of work for any metalhead is the Electric Masada double live album, At the Mountains of Madness. It showcases the jewish fusion jazz punk metal side of things. :wink:

I liked Faustian Echoes a lot (and I bought it) but at first glance, to see $6 for one song I was a bit surprised. I gave the Altar of Plagues samples on iTunes a quick listen this morning, I'll be sure to give it another listen tonight. I may buy it.

I definitely liked Agalloch's first album after buying it a few months ago, its good but I have no intention on buying anything past their second. I'm gonna rip their eps and demos pretty soon.

I always advocated their first two albums over their last two albums (though I do like Faustian Echoes a lot too). Glad you've come around somewhat on 'running naked through the forest' metal.
