Tompa WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Yes, that goal by Doughty was sick. Much better game this time, even though the Devils controlled most of it. Quick was amazing, as was Brodeur. Another two wins on the road, heading back to LA!
Bruce_Bitenfils Second time I miss the OT goal because of falling asleep. I hate being in Europe (nah just kidding, it's awesome.)
Metastable_To_Chaos That should've been NJ's game but the Kings still found a way to stay undefeated on the road.
DevotedWalnut I was a great fast paced game where both goalies were spectacular. I feel bad for Marty. Old school Canadian goalie being slightly outshines by the new school American. Oh well, the states had to catch up sometime.
Required_Fields I'm rooting for the Kings in this series. I don't like the Devils at all. Metastable To Chaos wroteThat should've been NJ's game but the Kings still found a way to stay undefeated on the road. To be honest, both games could have gone either way.
Tompa It's like I'm living in a weird parallel world where the Kings are awesome. This is really happening, isn't it? I'm getting misty eyed.
Bruce_Bitenfils When was the last time a team was defeated after leading the series 3-0? edit: I have my anwser: 1. Detroit Red Wings (1942)The Red Wings took a 3-0 lead in the Stanley Cup finals against the Maple Leafs, then lost the next three games by scores of 4-3, 9-3 and 3-0. In Game 7, the Wings took a 1-0 lead on Syd Howe's goal early in the second period and had the lead with less than 13 minutes remaining in the game. Then the Leafs' Sweeney Schriner scored to tie the game, and the Wings went on to lose 3-1. Detroit was the only team ever to be defeated in Cup final after leading 3-0 in games.2. Pittsburgh Penguins (1975)The Penguins led the Islanders 3-0 in their best-of-7 quarterfinal series, then blew four games in a row, becoming the only NHL team other than the '42 Red Wings to lose a seven-game playoff series after leading 3-0 in games. So it happened twice in 70 years? I knew it was a rare event, but not that rare.
DevotedWalnut Flyers did it to the Bruins about 2-3 seasons ago. Down 3-0 in series, down 3-0 in game 7 and still won. It's possible, just not plausible.
Thomas Fun fact: One other team has defeated the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seeds to reach the finals. Team? Calgary Flames ´04. Coach? Darryl Sutter. Go figure.
