Two once proud hockey towns who had to suffer through shitty teams and owners and are finally being rewarded. The energy in each arena would be off the charts. Just imagine when the Leafers get back there. Would be awesome if we met the Wings or you guys in the finals. Oh I just got goosebumps. :dio:
DevotedWalnut The Sidney Crosbys pretty much destroyed the Alex Ovechkins tonight. Pens in the conference final for back to back years. Imagine if it's another Wings vs. Pens final?
Thomas AND THE CANES WINS IT IN OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVERTIME! woho! God this is brutal on my sleep.
Thomas well... I don't believe Pits will get away that easily really.. I'll do think they'll win it in seven though. And Detroit'll beat Chicago. Would be awesome with an underdog-final between Hawks and Canes though
DevotedWalnut I missed both game 1's... Luckily I am wathing game 2 (Wings-Hawks) as I type this. But man, missing those games killed me a little on the inside. I couldn't watch them, I couldn't even watch highlights.
DevotedWalnut 4 point game for Geno puts him first in playoff scoring, 1 point ahead of Crosby. I think I am starting to get a little respect for the puke. He is putting up amazing numbers and is not taking shit from anybody. Crosby I mean, not Malkin... It may be that both series are at 2-0, but I sense a Detroit vs. Pittsburgh final again. I think Detroit moves on because they have too much talent and experience to lose 4 games before winning 2. I think Pittsburgh moves on because the combination of Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Guerin, Sykora, Satan, Kunitz, and Gonchar IMO is better than any combo of players Carolina can put out. I still like Ward over Fleury though. I can't stand Fleury with his pointy face and supid french accent.
Thomas I hate myself for saying this, but I agree. Maurice has done a great job with our seemingly lacking D ever since he took over, but if we don't get our shit together soon, we will be swept. Penguins offense is just too sharp, and Malkin is.... Hot. Ward cant be superhuman every night.
Adam metal_xxx wroteI hate myself for saying this, but I agree. Don't hate yourself, its part of being realistic as a fan. I was crushed when the Blackhawks lost game 2 in OT because I knew that the only chance they had of winning that series was to come out of Detroit with a split. Will I still cheer them on? Hell yeah! Will I still hold out some small measure of hope that they can come back? You bet, but in reality I don't think it will happen. Detroit has too much talent and experience to lose 4 out of 5.
DevotedWalnut How's this for realistic: Toronto Maple Leafs 2011 Stanley Cup Champions!!! the drought is over
DevotedWalnut I didn't even know there was a game tonight. 2 blow outs in 2 nights. Pens-Wings final.
DevotedWalnut Canes are done, didn't think they'd get swept. But oh well, shit happens. Pat Quinn is back in the NHL, will be the new head coach of the Edmonton Oilers. Tom Renney, who was fired by the Rangers this season, will be Quinns associate/assistant coach. But most importantly, Quinn is back! Nucks and Leafs fan rejoice!
DevotedWalnut so... Crosby, Malkin, Guerin, Sykora, Kunitz, Gonchar, Letang, Boucher, Staal, and Fleury or Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa, Franzen, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Filpula, Hudler, Rafalski, Cleary, Helm, and Osgood?
Thomas I'm with the old guys.. Although, what Crosby and Malkin has shown in these playoffs has been scary
DevotedWalnut So is nobody watching the finals? Wings up 2-1. Game 3 was pretty entertaining with the Wings destroying the Pens in the second but could not get the lead. Then the Pens outplaying the Wings in the 3rd. Max fucking Talbot with 2 goals on the night and Malkin actually played some defence. But, it is set in stone. The Detroit Red Wings are the 2009 Stanley Cup Champions. The last team to win the cup back-to-back was 10 years ago, and it was none other than the Wings. Best NHL team of the last 20 years, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
