What classics do you want to see reviewed?

I think Rio was talking about waiting until there's a free classic slot, we have a policy of a maximum of one a week, too, and I think someone may have already written one...

"Classic" does seem to imply, to me at least, that's it's been out for a while and is generally acknowledged as an excellent album. Is there that much good stuff from 2004 that can't just go under Archive?

Anyway, both are overrated... :rolleyes: If another live from Deep Purple must be reviewed either as an archive or a classic, I'd better see their neat '96 live at The Olympia (Paris). 🙂

and it's far from overrated, nobody talks about it on this site. So as far as I see it's underrated.

That's the version I've got, the 25 anniversary edition.

For me a great record live... my fav 5 live albums are all from the 70's.

In order:

1 - Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East (1979) the best life album of all times.
2 - Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous (1978)
3 - Scorpions - Tokio Tapes (1978)
4 - U.F.O. - Strangers In The Night (1978)
5 - Deep Purple - Made In Japan (1972)

All 5, imo, deserve classic status.[/img]

Yeah, they are awesome, (well, I've not listened the Cheap Trick & The Who ones) but my five 5 is my fav 5. (On Stage is the 6th)

And there're more as great, as:
Thin Lizzy - Live - Life (1983), Irom maiden - Live After Death (1983) or Queen - Live Killers (1973).

I would like to suggest a magnificent gem that never gets its due respect and attention:

Rough Cutt: Rough Cutt

This was a mid/late 80's masterpiece IMO that is great from start to finish. The band quickly dissolved after their 2nd CD and the singer (Paul Shortino) did a quick stint in Quiet Riot. He was also featured in Dio's "Stars" project.

Sounds an awful lot like Ratt (of which three of the numbers were part) but Shortino has a better voice than Pearcy.
