Too lazy to look if you guys mentioned it but, is the Flash Forward series worth a watch?

I tried the "new V" and the "new Prisoner" and both those series were awful... The kind of thing I love is House M.D., the first 2/3 seasons of Lost or the first Heroes series. Just saying so you can pinpoint my taste. :wink:

Nah... Flash-Forward started off decently with an interesting concept before spiralling down to become one of the shittiest shows on TV.

I have been watching Fringe, though, and I will reccomend it. Give it some time, because it starts off pretty mediocre, but towards the end of the first half of season 1 it starts getting very good, and then the last three-four episodes of season 1 are awesome. Looking forward to watching season 2 (except now TV shack and ninja video are down.... Noooooo).

In other news, started Trailer Park Boys. First episode wasn't that great, second was a'ight, although I'm not sure why it gets as much praise as it does.

Fair enough. Your ability to get through the standalone episodes will depend on how much you enjoy wacky pseudo-science, Walter Bishop's rantings (great character and great acting by John Noble, by the way) and Peter's sarcasm. I enjoy these things, so I can get through the not so well written standalone episodes. But at about mid-season, I really started enjoying the show's mythology, and towards the end of the season, even most of the standalones have some connection to the mythology, making them very enjoyable. And the last two episodes of the season are just awesome. The final image of season 1 is pretty mindblowing and very cool.

I do like the characters (John Noble is great, like you say) but am watching X-Files at the same time, so I can only take so much pretend science. Still, I've got this far, might as well carry on.

plus season 1 is not that great. Wait til you get into seasons 2, 3 and 4.

Plus there is probably some jokes you just won't get because it is very Canadian.

@ DevWal - I'll make a list. Amusing how Canadians sound like Americans with a bit of Yorkshire in them.

funny, I just read an article that says basically the same thing. Canadians grow up watching both American and British tv, so we mix the humour.

anyway, good show. once you totally get into it.

Awesome. It's one of my favourite shows. For a teen drama it's surprising how well-written and well-acted it is.

Watched Stephen King's The Langoliers for four hours today. CG is terribad (I honestly don't know why anyone attempted CG effects before 1997) but it was entertaining on a rainy Saturday.

Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton are simply awesome and IMO are the best on screen couple ever! they're awesome at their jobs and very inspiring as parents even though not perfect no one really is.

Just finished season 4. I couldn't stop watching, the football story lines and the character development were too interesting for me to stop! Can't wait to see the 5th and final season this fall.

Has anyone seen the new season of Futurama? The movies were pretty shitty, but the new episodes are definitely back to form. It's awesome again.

Finished Fringe Season 2. The first half of the season was pretty lame- far too many boring standalones, with a few awesome mythology episodes spread out here and there. But the second half is completely awesome, ramping up the mythology and personal drama- even the few standalones in the second half our great because they're more tightly connected to our main characters. And the episode "Peter" is just brilliant- one of the best TV episodes I've ever seen. Add in a very good season finale and I'm happy with this show and looking forward to season 3. Hopefully they can deliver a more compelling first half this time though.
