Used to think this was just pretty good but after about a year of it growing on me more and more each time I listen, I now think it's one of the absolute best BM albums of the last couple of years. Wonderful, really. And the CD version STILL HASN'T ARRIVED :mad:

Now I come to mention it, neither has that fucking Lugubrum, and that was coming from amazon uk rather than Canada so they don't even have an excuse. Double :mad:

Yeah, I think it's one of those that needs time to sink in. The songs are long and they can just sit there in the background unless you really listen to the way that they flow together and build into different ideas. Mainly it's all about the tunes. The clean, melodic sections are really pretty but even the blasting bits have a strong sense of melody. The bit near the start of Caliginosity where they kick into this furious blastbeat thing but actually they use it to pick out this super dark melodic line.... great stuff.

Nailed it except for that C# somewhere towards the beginning
KANSAS - Carry On Wayward Son (5:23)
This has got to be in a weird key. Still baffled by it. It's gotta be the overdubs. I can do the verses, but the chorus never comes out right. The couple times I did it on my nephews rock band game, they thought it was on key, on hard difficulty.
IRON MAIDEN - Aces High (4:31)
Didn't queue the lyrics, so I stopped after the first chorus.
DREAM THEATER - Endless Sacrifice (11:24)
Nailed it.
DREAM THEATER - Scene Two II. Strange Deja Vu (5:12)
Nailed it except for a couple bum notes. Possibly in a non-standard key
DIO - Caught In The Middle (4:17)
Kept hitting notes that were probably wrong, such F. Unless this song is in Eb or in Phrygian, it still needs work. The tone sucked too. Still singing way too forcefully in falsetto resulting in annoying nasal tone. More grit, less force on the Dio songs.

Absolutely perfect.
BLUE ÖYSTER CULT - Burnin' For You (4:31)
Perfect.
ANGRA - Nova Era (4:52)
Almost Perfect
ANGEL WITCH - Angel Witch (3:22)
Couldn't quite get the diction down pat. On another note the falsetto tone was exactly perfect, so I should figure out how to approach more songs in that manner. For anyone reading this, and they aren't, the falsetto is on the "see a shadow fly with you" line.

Unbelieveably Close to Bon's voice
WINTER ROSE - I'll Never Fall In Love Again (3:48)
Half-assed it, was about 90% pefect anyway
STRATOVARIUS - The Kiss Of Judas (5:49)
Another one where the falsetto had Joacim Cans tone.
SONATA ARCTICA - Broken (5:18)
