Because nearly every track I have heard from them after Soundscapes has at least one moment that really irritates me?

Hum... Well I have the same problem with Gallows Gallery and haven't listened to Hangman's Hymn in more than a year and their last one did nothing for me, so I guess I can see where you're coming from.
