cry_of_the_banshee stevelovesmoonspell wroteI finally picked this up great album. :dio: I remember when it first came out, Kerrang and the other 'zines at the time stated they sounded like Venom... Have you heard Branded and Exiled?
Sceadugenga Samael - Into the Pentagram on repeat x3 Am always reminded of what an amazing song this is every time I listen to it. Gah. I can't get over it.

Thanks for the reminder. Spurred me on to go through the whole Blood Ritual album again too. I have no patience for late period Samael (after Passage at least) but their early stuff was highly distinct (I love their mid-paced tempos) and enjoyable.
The_Annoying_Frenchman Not as good as Wake the Sleeper but a pretty good album nonetheless. Uriah Heep continues to embrace its past and that's a good thing
The_Annoying_Frenchman John Zorn - The Satyr's Play/Cerberus (2011) Excellent percussion work by Kenny Wollesen and Cyro Baptista on the Satyr's Play 8 parts suite.
The_Annoying_Frenchman Another excellent avant-jazz album by Zorn. Line up consists of John Medeski (piano), Kenny Wollesen (vibes), Trevor Dunn (bass) and Joey Baron (drums).
