I've noticed there are two versions of this album around. One of them sounds like it was recorded using analogue tape and there is another that sounds loud and clear like Burnt Offerings.

Which do you guys like? I like the newer one myself.

I prefer his newer material, actually; Capricornus' contributions were always a bit too primitive and plodding.

Rush - The Analog Kid. That song probably took the longest of any to go from "it's okay" to "fucking masterpiece"

Must be a in a weird key or I misheard something the first half dozen times.

There are only a few songs I get a massive shot of adrenaline when I play. When those synths come in and it's time for the guitar solo I get this incredible-hulk-like burst and I can somehow play lead guitar at ridiculous speed. Alex is faster than Petrucci easily on that song because he is not playing some shit where every finger just happens to be in the perfect place for speed. Nope, Big Al doesn't cheat. Weird ass scale where all the notes are ridiculously hard to access and 64th's at 220bpm? No problem for Mr. Lifeson.

My uncle adores Rush.. and from time to time I don't mind spinning them, when I want to hear something a bit more low key than some of my other albums.
