Too bad you can't enjoy them, cause i really think that they deserve all the praise they get. And Ghost Reveries is a great album, though not in terms with Blackwater Park. Blackwater actually took quite a while for me to get.
yeah, opeth are magikal. mikael akerfeldt channels all of the sadness and beauty of the world into the delicate chords of his guitar while caressing your ears with the heavenly touch and delicate whisper of his angelic murmur and exploding into a cacaphony of catharsis and hate with his bestial growls. to call them anything less than majestic art in its purest form is truly to commit a sin upon the most holy altar of their music. they make pink floyd seem like n'sync and life seem meaningless without the glory of their transcendent aural magik

What I meant was, what I said made more sense, considering that Darkthrone is pumping out below-average shit nowadays. Opeth, though extremely and sometimes wrongfully overrated, are still evolving their sound (at a slower rate than other prog bands, mind you. but still).

They WERE a black metal legend, thanks to a single album (IMO), which was ABITNS. The rest of their discography is either fair, or boring. Compared that to each one of Opeth's releases, which have been very much solid in their own way.

And do tell me how Darkthrone is evolving. Cause all I'm hearing is a SLIGHTLY more punkier sound. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same thing.
