Anyone else itnerested in hearing this? Apparently they're done recording it ( http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... emID=53983 ). They've also said in interviews that the songs will flow together than it will be their proggiest work yet (Brann Dailor said something about a King Crimson influence which is only a good thing). This also could mean they might start sounding something like Isis or Neurosis, especially since I already hear quite a bit of Isis in parts of Leviathan. At the same time I'm kind of wondering about them being signed to Warner Bros and how much that will change their sound, if at all.

thoughts?

I'm kind of worried. I hope it doesn't turn out shitty.

Well, seeing how lately all the metal bands that sign to major labels immediately put out a shit record, I will listen to this first. But I like Leviathan, and if this incorporates more of the prog elements found there, this could be awesome.

I prefer Mastodon's more proggy melodic stuff. The vocals are still a stumbling block for me.

I'm damn curious. I really dig what these guys come up with. The fact that I haven't got sick of them despite the absurd overexposition they got when Leviathan was released says a lot about my appreciation.

I liked Leviathan, but got bored of it. Want to try it again after hearing some tracks from Remission...

I can't be arsed doing the puzzle. Someone do it, take a screenshot, and then post it here.

I did it too, but I'm too computer illiterate to figure out the whole "Print Screen" thing, so meh.

I think I'm the only metalhead who doesn't like Mastadon. I think it may have been the atrociuos production but I just couldn't get into Leviathan.

Or maybe I'm just not that into Moby Dick :P

I'm looking forward to this, songs flowing together is exactly what was missing from Leviathan for me. It always seemed like a collection of songs rather than a cohesive album. And more King Crimson influence should be cool...unless they decide to write their own Moonchild...
