Nice.
Miss, it's the same problem I have with Meshuggah. It's impressive wankery, but wankery all the same. I don't care how many beats and time changes etc. you throw into the song. If the song isn't memorable, what's the point. I hate bands that feel they have to prove their musical talents. Just write a good song.
I wouldn't call any Meshuggah wankery, even if they've only just now started making good albums (their style wasnt built for 5~ minute songs). I guess I like ambition and complexity in music more than most though. But there is a large difference between playing well and wankery... i dont understand how people would rather listen to another boring generic thrash/death/prog/whatever band rather than bands that are doing original stuff and doing it well...

Weeeeeeeeeeelllllllll, I'll just rush right out and buy something that sucks, cause Noodles says so. I like a lot of Prog and shit like that dude, but there is a difference here. Somebody like Robert Fripp can be creative and original, yet still write a good song that I'll remember 5 minutes after it's over. DEP just writes music that I like to call a clusterfuck. Are they talented? No doubt. Do they write songs that stand out from one another and do stuff within the song that makes sense? Hell no. Like I said, I applaud them for being good at their respective posts within the band. To me it's just "Look at us! We can play technical lines of notes but we can't write an actual song to save our lives!" Plenty of bands are doing original shit and doing it well. Plenty of bands do unorthodox stuff with their music. You can be original without jacking yourself off with your guitar.
