I was with you through the 80's, but haven't heard much of the stuff from after. And what I have heard, I haven't liked.

Fucking bump.

I've been checking out thangs like Cursed and Trap Them, and its been going well. Makes me raaage.

Listening to Dillinger Four. Its quality pop punk (I guess. Emotional hardcore?). You'll probably hate it.

I also need more Kill the Client and Maruta, 'cause holy crap, what I heard earlier ruled.

Going to Guitar Wolf in a few days.

That's all.

Trap Them has been one of those bands I've been blaring a lot recently. It took a while but once it clicks they are so great.

Weekend Nachos is quality. I've heard some Kill the Client and enjoyed it. I guess I should check out Cursed.

I've been rocking out to some ignorant hardcore so much lately. Reign Supreme, War Hound, Turnstile, etc.

The only WN I heard was on a comp, and I was not impressed with the vocals. Any albums or songs you all would recommend?

Mumakil is pretty awesome. Kinda monotonous. One of those bands that blares into cacophony albeit really good at that. I love how the punk thread has gone grindcore.

As for WN, the vox aren't great but they just have great riffs. I could imagine somebody thinking they are too doomy for doing core. A Few Blocks South is a great track.

Okay so that tough guy riff/breakdown that proceeded to get doomy/sludgy was preeettty cool. I will give them more shots. Still not crazy about the vocals.

Also, dudes, if we want to talk about punky grind: Magrudergrind all the way. The song Bridge Burner hits like a fucking truck.

I like those backing vocals, but where did they go?

plus fucking one. I had that exact same thought when I first heard that song. I don't love the vocals but they aren't awful. I hope they change them for their next release.

The new ANb and Despise You split is so good. I had never heard Despise You prior to this and they are pretty stellar hardcore and ANb's half might be some of the best stuff they have ever written.

Ummm they stopped doing that shitty 16 second track bullshit since Altered States but yeah now that I think about it the breakdowns were definitely hardcore-ish. That's probably due to sharing it with Despise You but I love their half.

Anyone mention Pettybone yet? Rather good all-female punk band.

So I checked out Despise You's original LP and it is much more like standard powerviolence than their latest split, which makes it such a classier split when bands seem to play off each other's style and do something entirely different. Yeah, Despise You's earlier stuff is good but their stuff on the split is just exquisite and kinda puts it to shame.
