Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miles Davis. As for albums: - Weather Report's Weather Report (1971), Heavy Weather - Mahavishnu Orchestra's Birds of Fire - Miles Davis' Bitches Brew, On the Corner You can also try Jaco Pastorius' self-titled from 1976. |

I wouldn't call Jaco's self-titled album "Jazz Rock," but it's absolutely worth checking out. Seconding the Mahavishnu Orchestra reccomendation, they can rock out pretty well. |

Seconding Howlin' Wolf's recommendations. For Miles Davis there are loads; a particular favourite of mine is We Want Miles. I'm sure there are loads but my mind's gone a bit blank and I think Miles and Mahavishnu are the pinnacles of that scene
