Fuck yes. Just recently been getting into Scottish indie and the stuff is brilliant. Catchy, melancholy, exactly what you'd expect from dour Glaswegians. Check it out.

Also, good stuff, it would be a nice addition to the NHL 13 soundtrack.

It's such a good tune. They were one of the first popular British "indie" bands to sign with their native accents- before that, you had to imitate the London standard to get anywhere. Biffy Clyro still have this hangover. The guys in the band are very Scottish, but when they sing you can hardly tell.

Also, check out this tune by Glasvegas. It's a classic up here, the chorus is sung whenever it's party time. When this album came out they were heralded as the new Arctic Monkeys or whatever by the press and then they just kind of fizzled out.

Here we, here we, here we fucking go!

Nice, another cool tune for the NHL 13 soundtrack (besides, very on-topic). Although the "here we fucking go" part would be savagely edited, hmm.

This shit is so good. Bruce, are you into doom stuff at all? Can't remember. If you are, check out The Twilight Sad. It's like Trainspotting mixed with Paradise Lost.

Not really into doom (although I worship a few Candlemass albums for some reason), but I will check it out.
You know the Dropkick Murphys I take it? I love that one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFw9AP5q0Pw it was in the NHL 12 soundtrack. THE BATTLE BEGIIIIIIIIIIIINS.

Love the Dropkicks. Different style though. Folk punk =/ indie.

What's interesting about these Scottish indie bands is that they sing with their local accents, a very recent development. Before, to have any success in the British indie scene you had to emulate the accent all the London bands were using, because it was part of the genre. But these guys have something new, using the Scottish accent to lend an air of depression to some really good tunes. Other, more famous Scottish bands, like Biffy Clyro, are awesome, but you can't tell they're Scottish. Like this:
