"And I also prefer the Skrillex remix of Promises to the original which kinda sucks because it's awkward admitting to approving of Skrillex."
I prefer the original track...100% less Skrillex.
In addition to the Misfits show playing Doomsday, Doomsday was featured as the trailer song for the widely popular video game, Borderlands 2. Initially I sort of despised it but something made me keep listening to it, then I found their symphonic track 2808
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JAxgFe4hpE and while it wasn't perfect, I really appreciated the attempt and effort behind it.
I think I've heard all of Welcome Reality, think it is a pretty mixed bag: Doomsday, Promises, Scorpions, Departure being my favorites while stuff like Crush on You and Innocence irritate me like any other popular dubsteb. Yeah, they can be good at pop hooks, and their singer Alana Watson is perfect for making this music more marketable to a wider audience.
And yeah, I don't have fond club memories attached to this stuff like you do, but somehow I found about this band, as even sometimes I look for non-metal things to listen to, explaining my recent excursion to Dave Matthews Band, for example.
