Any views on this band?
I have the Tunnels album and love it, very different to anything else I own.

A fucking amazing album. I love how dark and the atmosphere it creates is just epic. It sounds so evil without sounding forced. I had been considering a review for it here, but everyone I tried sharing it with thought it meandered too much. But I think it straddles that line between doom and drone in a way that they just barely hold the melody together by a string that keeps them from devolving into pure noise. I love it.

Nothing is probably just like them, but I would recommend bands like Locrian, Horseback, and maybe even Obscure Sphinx who I have reviewed here. Feel free to ask more specific suggestoins.

Not sure what I would ask about them.
I found them by chance and was hooked straight away.
As you say it sounds so evil.
I'll check out the others bands and let you know what I think.
Need more of this though. :)

Add Dolorian to the suggestions list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnQHtr5Twc4

Obscure Sphinx: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Riue-ZUMiKk
Locrian: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgMqjGa3X98
Horseback: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDZOOtMBa5E

Currently listening to Tunnels, and I'm really getting into the deep feedback of some of those chords in Mourning Stars. In contrast to the clean picking, they are really set off.

Whenever I listen to Voidwards, I play it first, then listen to the rest of the album. Always.

Will have to try that sometime. Opinions on that winding acoustic only track 5? I sometimes skip it when listening to the album but then put it on repeat for 5-6 times in a row when wanting some non-metal.

It has always been an enigma to me. I don't usually skip it. It's not a simple interlude insofar as it's so long and I would enjoy it as an acoustic bit if it was more straightforward and not bracketed by the minimalistic beginning and ends. But overall, it blends in with the album as a whole.
