Wow, great list Frigid. I haven't heard many of those bands and that's exactly why it's great, it means i have lots of new music to check. Folk metal rulez and when it's done good it simply slays. You forgot to add Finntroll on that list. |

I have Einherjer's Odin Owns Ye All, and damn if that's not a great album. Scandanavian drinking music at it's finest. I've gotten blitzed to that one more times than I can count. |

I'm afraid you've committed a sin against folk metal, Frigid. You forgot Ensiferum, possibly the greatest of all folk metal bands (well, at least until Jari left). |

Also, of course add Isengard and Storm. Both folk/black featuring Fenriz. Yggdrasil - Download I Nordens Rike Fridegey, its good folk stuff. All recorded winds howling and acoustics. Now, onto Drudkh. Do you like Burzum Fridge? Because there is a lot of Burzum in there. And Hate Forest i guess (ive only got Sorrow.) I dont know, can anyone else think of any bands that have such a hypontic/calming quality? |

FrigidSymphony wrote: These guy were really good, i'll be keeping an eye open for them FrigidSymphony wrote: This is just far to heavy for me. I normally can let folk metal bands off but when the guy started singing i just laughed. They remided me of skyforger but with a lot more folk. Its probably that the vocals in those two bands make me laugh more than anything. FrigidSymphony wrote: This is great!!! really like these guys. Remind me of both Cruachan and Elvenking at times. I'll be getting some of their stuff soon. FrigidSymphony wrote: I couldn't get these samples to work for some reason. I'll try again another time.
Cheers for these links frigid! Some great bands you've found there. Tell us what you think of the ones i posted |
