Does anyone here dig him? I get some of his stuff, but most of his works just terrorize my eardrums. I do like more and more noise, but it's still one of the hardest genres for me to get into. Does anyone have any starting points? |

Saw him live about three years ago. It was a really cool gig, but was actually just static noise for 40 minutes that made the room shake, and there were a few people trying to dance and some trying to mosh. Quite a surreal time. Anyway the only album I have is Maldoror, the one he did with Patton. Guess it's worth a listen but I don't play it very often. |

Try and track down a copy of Merzbeat as well as the split he did with Bastard Noise (can't remember the title). Both are pretty restrained, for noise, without as much dissonance as you'd expect from him. I don't really listen to a lot of that genre, but I've also heard Ryoji Ikeda namedropped as a fairly good starting point for less aggressive noise. |

Thanks a lot! I'll check that out! I already own some Ryoji Ikeda, quite nice but the high pitches really hurt my ears at times... hehe. |

You might also want to try the album he did with Boris, called Sun Baked Snow Cave. It took me a little work to adjust to that one, but I really like it. |

That Merzbeat thing is awesome and easy to get into! Thanks a lot! I'll have to check out the other one and the Boris split still. |
