No, you're overestimating them. Saudis hate Jordanians, Jordanians hate the Lebanese, Sunnis still hate the Shiites, and everyone hates the Palestinians.

If the Israelis are against the wall, they'll glass Mecca, systematically exterminate all the Palestinians, and then say to the Muslims "Your move." Then if the Muslims move, Medina goes. Then the Dome of the Rock.

The muslims haven't united to destroy Israel because they know that's exactly what'll happen and it's far worse then simply having Israel in the vicinity.

Proof of the decline in bombings? Things seem much the same to me!

Hamas hasn't attacked since the election that I know of. That's one helluva decline from last year.

The result of such a war would be decided by where Turkey stands. According to what I hear Israel isn't that much better than Turkey. They have better technology but Turkey does have a lot too and outnumbers Israel in infantry a few times. Being a %98 muslim country we might make a stand with the rest of the muslim world even though we're trying to distance ourselves from them. But something like bombing Mecca would set Turkey off. And that means a lost war for Israel.


And if you're in doubt yes Turkey has nuclear power. Has had for a long time.


But I'm not sure this would happen. We hate Arabs as much as the next guy. But bombing Mecca... that's another story.

Hey, honestly, if Israel was attacked, they'd just do the best they could to wipe out everything the Muslims loved. Mecca... Medina... The Dome of the Rock... if it was really every last Arab nation V. Israel with no hope of backup... then Israel would nuke everything they could and go out in a blaze of glory.

It's a bad idea for every Arab to attack Israel and it won't ever happen because the Arab leaders aren't that stupid.

I think it's perfectly possible that the Arab States would unite iunder the banner of anti-semitism and anti-westernisation. But still they wouldn't have a fighting force capable of overcoming Israel and it's inevitable American allies. The good news for all concerned is of course that Israel seemed to be backing down slightly last year. If Sharon is replaced by someone capable of ending Palestinian oppression in Jerusalem, (for example- http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1703244,00.html) then maybe the election of Hamas would be less problematic. It's also unfortunate that in cutting aid and refusing to speak to Palestine after the elections, the West has effectively alienated and demonized the only genuine democracy in the arab world... To be honest I'm not sure how you respond to a democratically elected terrorist, but I don't think it should have been like that.

Well the initial point of my plan was that it's non-violent. But it requires a massive amount of cooperation from he international community. This probably won't be too much of a problem since the Arab world enjoys singling out every single country it feels like for Jihad. This month it's Denmark for a cartoon, next month it's Turkey for not being Muslim enough.

By denying them all contact with the western world, the nasty Arab states will collapse in infrastructure thanks to religious and political instability. The Sunniis will be too bust fighting the Mooniis and the Shi'ites will be busy fighting the Piss'ites to even worry about attacking Isreal. All we need is to say "Oil? Pah, that's, like, sooooo 80s" as we drive around in electric cars.

The biggest problem I think would be Russia. They seem to have a weird habit of going against everything, no matter how beneficial. It's like the national equivilent of a chav.

True. Russia would fuck it all up. So would China. Didn't Putin once say something like "We wouldn't tolerate an attack against Iran ?" I think I remeber something like that. I'm not sure though. Well your plan doesnt include an attack, but Russia still could fuck up. Peaceful or not every plan regarding the world future has a high chance of ending up with the WWIII.

Putin is a dangerous guy, but intelligent. Ditto the Chinese, but the Iranians worry me.

And that Guardian article is interesting, Rio. Truthfully, Israeli government needs a hell of a shake up to get rid of all the corruption, but Sharon was a good leader, whatever his past. Olmert worries me...

All I know is Isreal isn't even close to being as weak as they like to pass themselves off as.....

nor as innocent when it comes to Palestine. They like to blow shit up as randomly as the Muslims, and not always as a counter attack.
