It's not that you hate the children at all, it seems much more directed at yourself. People aware of their own shortcomings make much better parents, and you can't really predict who will be a 'good' or 'bad' parent. It's the enthusiastic ones you have to be careful of...

I'm not going to give you a lecture about self-loathing, don't worry. Just... go easier. I'm assuming there aren't any stories about how you Final Destination-ally killed a host of schoolchildren through a series of unlikely coincidences that wasn't really your fault but has made you feel guilty ever since?
