True enough. Still, I'm a powerlifter, so it's pretty crucial in my program at least.

Oh, for sure. As of right now I'm just training to get bigger and stronger. I've thought about competing in powerlifting, but I'm gonna wait till I move somewhere that I can be around more experience lifters to train with. I am trying to get my raw maxes in the big 3 up though. Currently my goals are 500/365/500. I'm hoping to be close by the end of the summer. We'll see how things go.

Do you compete raw, equipped, or both?

There's not much RAW-competitors in Europe at all, actually so I compete equipped. Or well, I compete without equipment actually, because my blood pressure can't handle it at all and my eyes get completely bloodshot, my face dilates, as well as I break a lot of vessels. So I compete without equipment in champuionships where equipment is allowed. No good shots at winning of course, but it's fun anyway, I'm very competitive so I like it. My personal in lbs are:

Bodyweight:ca. 196
Benchpress: ca. 308
Squats: ca. 396
Deadlift: ca. 463

I am nowhere near that bench record especially or the others for that matter, as my prolapse have been keeping me out of active training for a long long while which sucks a lot. My goals are to achieve those numbers again before I start competing again, though I weigh in on 213 lbs now.

Hmm. I've actually had that problem recently. If I squat or deadlift heavy I break tones of blood vessels on my face, neck, and traps.

It's normal to break some during heavy lifts... With the squat suit however, I broke every single vessel in my eye leaving them almost blackened red for three months. My face swelled up as well. Not a pretty sight. The doctors said that a vessel in my brain could break. And I don't want that heh, so I stopped using equipment. I have high blood pressure though, runs in the family, so it shouldn't occur otherwise, and neither have I heard of anything like it.

Well, fuck that. Yeah, mine is nowhere near that bad.

ive been into lifting on and off for about 3-4 years, starting to get back into it again. Its very relaxing, and metal is perfect for motivation. I am a big guy too, with years of rugby experience. so it helps alot. ca: 186cms and 250lbs. never actually pushed myself to a pb, not in a long time anyways. But i once pressed my 200lb brother overhead 10 times! lol.... pretty crude measurement of strength, but lets just say i love lifting things! haha

Great to see a fellow rugger on here!!! Welcome to MR. I have to weightlift to look good for my fiancee. However, at 185 lbs it doesn't hurt to bulk up. Even if I'm a winger.
