Tried this a few years back, with notably pathetic response. Hopefully we'll do better now we have new people.

Here's how it werks:

Email/PM me with your nominations for each award as laid out below. Don't respond in this thread, otherwise everyone will see who you voted for.

You can only nominate one poster for each award (but can nominate the same poster for multiple awards, as long as it isn't contradictory ie best and worst).

You can't nominate yourself.

Send in your MR username as well if it's not obvious from your email

That's it! Results will be posted on the 1st January 2009.

Each should be self-explanatory. Obviously, the most idiotic/awesome moments awards refer to events in forum life rather than posters themselves, so be a bit explanatory so I know WTF you're on about. If you want to post little amusing explanations for your choices otherwise, feel free, the best will be posted with the results.

Oh, and I won't reveal whom voted for whom, so feel free to nominate who you like. Even me, as y'all know I have the skin of a steel-plated rhino, so vote for meeee... or not. Up to you.

Voting. Started it out with the intention of noms, but the same people are coming up often enough for it not to be worth it...

Personally I think it's fine, except I don't agree with the negative awards.

I foresee all the winners of the negative awards being quite alienated.

Yeah exactly....I intentionally only voted for the positive categories.

The only 'awards' I can see reaaaally being that bad are the "pay to not sleep with" and "worst overall forumite"

All the rest really aren't that bad, the winner should more or less learn to take a joke.

Worst overall forumite is bad (as is worst old and new poster), but considering that about 90% of posters here are guys, I don't see whats so bad about the "pay to notsleep with you one." Like Cara said, we should be able to take a joke.
