All bullshit aside, a Moderator should be held to a higher standard of conduct, fair or not.

I think we all should just let it go thought. There have been an inordinate number of locked threads since V returned and i dont blame them all on him. Since when is the purpose of comign to these boards to fight.

I voted V. not because I thought he was right, but to give a message that I think it wasn't fair to ban him, as you were both wrong/right. Equal at least...

PS- I voted for Val out of personal bias and out of pissiness that I got my moderator status removed for the sort of conduct that Eyesore perpetuated, and yet his status remains untouched. Heck, in my case, the action undertaken wasn't the problem, it was the way I did it. In Eyesore's case, neither the action undertaken nor the manner in which he did it can be held to standards of proper conduct.

So... what the fuck?

If I put myself in a banned person's shoes, and imagine myself committing the acts that they did, then I would not be surprised in the least if I was banned and I would know in my heart I deserved it.

Everyone that has been banned so far has not shown the good sense when to quit and taken it just one step too far, which again just makes me sad because I miss them despite their faults.

To the next poster who finds themselves operating outside of the limits of common sense.. please don't do it!!

To the topic at hand, I'd say they were both acting pretty pissy. Still, as many have said, as a moderator, Eyesore should have been the bigger man, and he simply wasn't. So I'll have to go with V on this one, though he needs to find alternate ways of coming back here and not getting into a huge debate each time over something stupid.

A while ago. I acted like an ass and accidentally drove Clint-metalcdratings away after telling him (not at all kindly) to confine all his posts concerning his website to one thread. Mike noticed it and decided that I was unfit to be a moderator, so he revoked my moderator status.

Yeah, it would seem so.

If Dead Machine is not fit to be a moderator than Eyesore certainly isn't either.

Dude, get real. There was NOTHING out of line when it came to my conduct with that Valefor. No way. You, on the other hand, were immature and hateful. HUGE difference. That's fine that some people here like Valefor, I did not ask or suggest that he be banned.

There is no issue here. He was banned because he posted a PM I sent him—which included no insults or attacks like he claimed—and Mike locked the thread and told him to keep it private. He then went and reposted the same thing after Mike locked the other thread. THAT got him banned. You can also go back re-read that Evanescence thread, how can you say my conduct was out of line? Honestly. Valefor comes in after the whole "prick" thing was squashed and starts slinging mud...and he wouldn't quit! And I'm not talking about just arguing his point, he can do that, but he wouldn't even acknowledge things said, he just continued acting like it was never said and continued his little personal flame war. You can't do that, then make some smart ass comment and then go, "I'm going to take the high road" right after. He wasn't even part of the initial conversation, his intent the entire time was to start a flame war, and I may not have been around in the past, but it is clear that his intention has always been the same. Yay, he has some cheerleaders here. So what? He was still out of line.

What I did and what you did, Aaron, are two completely different things. You flaunted your mod power and said "HEY! I'M AN ASSHOLE AND PROUD!" I never once used my status as a moderator as leverage, nor did I ever attack Valefor with the elitist attitude that you did. I may have disagreed with him and I argued my side, but I did not get immature and hateful. Sorry if you think that, it didn't happen.

As for this crap about moderators being held to a higher standard, that's bullshit. A higher standard of what? I can't go off-topic? Well, fine, neither can you! I can't argue? Fine, neither can you! I could go down the list of these supposed standards I now need to adhere to, in the end I am still an active member of this board and my moderator status is insignificant and separate when it comes to my contribution to this board. I am just a member of this board until people spam, post porn, etc.. I have ZERO interest in being told by users here that I can't enjoy the board like I used to, or like YOU do. That's bullshit.

Eyesore, was there any point in sending Valefor that PM? Any at all beyond furthering the antagonization? Can you think of a reason? Did you want to get in the last word.

A higher standard of civil behavior, Eyesore, at least in regards to treating the forumites. You and the entire team, you guys've drawn a huge line inbetween yourselves and the forumites and labeled yourselves 'US' and the non-reviewers 'THEM,' and it's bullshit of the highest order. It always HAS been.

No, no, my friend. The SECOND I became a mod I was labelled part of "US" by the people here. I have never once acted like a mod, but I have had this label place upon me by the people here, this label of "you have to be this way or that way" and then there are stupid comments like what you just said. Supposedly I'm not fit to be a mod because my actions are un-mod-like, yet I have this holier-than-thou mod mentality? Please make sense, dude.

Yes my PM had a purpose, sure it was sarcastic, but it was private and sent as a forum member. And no it was not in any way hateful. You like Valefor, you don't like me. That's fine, don't try and justify that with nonsense.

For those of you who think I am not fit to be a mod, that's fine. Shall I make sure that I moderate you from now on? Because I have not been moderating this board. There are rules here, see them at the top of this forum, those rules apply in all forums and they apply to mods and users alike. I break NONE of those rules.
