Nice work. Black and grey is the way to go.
It hurts like a motherfucker on the chest, doesn't it?
Nothing like on the inside of the arm or the collar bone area, though... keep going man, ink is a good investment, the only thing that you will take with you to the grave.

Did I comment on your pathetic self-tattoo? No.

I've been telling my friends for ages that I'm gonna get 'HEAVY METAL' on the inside of my bicep so I can tense it and go "thats fuckin heavy metal!" and some people seem to think I was serious, so now I'm in a compromising situation, haha. If I don't get it my credibilitys gone!

If you don't have anything sensible or constructive to say then just fuck off. Shut up at least. It's not like I care very much, but lately you have been lowering the quality of the forums with every fucking post. Aren't you in your thirties? Start acting like a fucking adult then, and stop acting like an abused 15-year old.

@V

Yeah it hurts a lot to fo it on the chest, I had to stretch out, so it touched the collarbone which was awful.

Getting more?
For me, it's almost like an addiction; I get one , and then I'm already thinking about the next one...
it hurts real bad up around the inside of the arm, near the pit.
Tattooing is like a ritual, the pain, the scarring, the blood, and for a big one, it is a commitment; once you start, you gotta go through with it.

Thing is, a first tattoo is a big thing to most people, like a rite of passage (like losing your cherry) and usually (if the person is smart) not considered lightly. It is permanent and the last thing somebody wants to be told is that it is ugly. It's not ugly at all; it looks good, looks like it was done by somebody very skilled with a needle (fine lines, nice shading, and the black rose is cool) and it bears a message that I assume is significant to metal_xxx, one that I agree with. Without courage, heart, whatever you want to call it, nothing else really counts.

BTW, getting a tattoo, which requires sitting perfectly still whilst enduring a not insignificant amount of pain for sometimes hours at a time, while trusting somebody with the task of permanently scarring your body is the opposite of being pussy.

I'm definitely gonna get more, and I have a big one planned for December. I have booked he whole day, so most of my right arm will probably be covered. More on that when the sketch is ready. Really looking forward to it although right now I'm not in dire need of a new one because of the constant itching and stinging in the actual wound.

I have always been fond of tattoos and can see myself ending up with quite a few more of them. Even though Stefan will find them ugly :lame:

Cool...
yeah, the healing process can be maddening, especially the first few nights when you are trying to sleep.
What are you treating it with tio keep it moist? Keeping it moist is crucial, as I am sure the artist told you.

Will eventually (when $$$ is available) get more done, what I would like is an old, moonlit graveyard scene with zombies marching through some wicked wrought iron half broken cemetery gates on my back, with but that will cost a pretty penny and is a bit ambitious. I am lucky, though, because almost everybody I know that is my age have hairy assed backs, and I don't, so, a back panel is definitely something I am interested in for the future.

Well that sounds pretty awesome. I would like a big one on my back as well, but I havn't figured our just what I want yet.

I use some lotion I got from the tattooist to keep it moist as well as some mild soap without perfume when washing it. Doing that twice a day does the trick.

Sounds about right. Keeping it clean and using plain old lotion is what I did as well. A/D works good, too, but it is greasy.
You getting a full sleeve next, then? Or did I read your previous post or so wrong? Whatcha got in mind?

No it's just the upper arm that's gonna get more or less covered in ink. The tattooist is drawing it so it's kinda hard to explain. But it's an old-schoolish ship that's about to go down on rough sea. So alot of details with waves and the ocean and shit. The ship itself is also going to be very distinct. Anyway, folded in the sky there will be a pair of hands stretching out as if they were going to save the ship. They will not be that distinct, but you'll be able to see it as it'll be drawn in among the skies. This doesn't have anyting to do with God though even though it is pretty divine or may seem religious. THe hands symbolise hope.

I'll get it due to some various rough breaks I've had the past 7-8 years, and it'll work as an encouraging factor through difficult times. Courage is important to me, as you may have understood. It drives me.

I'm also looking to get something on my left forearm. That doesn't have much to do with courage though, and is much darker. I think it'll look very cool though. It'll be kind of a crack in the skin with two skeleton hands on each side of the glitch as if they were opening it. Inside you'll see the glimpse of an eye and a skull.

That sounds awesome. Courage, or heart, is very important to me as well.
Tattoos should definitely bear meaning, whether it is symbolic or literal.
My viking ship half sleeve represents courage, dauntlessness and strength in the face of the danger and the unknown, as sailing the seas in those times certainly required all these things. The Vikings were conquerors as well, and it always reminds me that before one can set out to conquer the world one must first conquer one's self. Facing the stormy seas in those times represents that to me .
