On the gypsy issue, Aaron's got a point, but there's more to it than that. Jews have been scattered over the world since the Romans kicked us out of Judea, and are we thieving bastards? No. I would go so far (I know it's hard to believe) as to say that Jews have suffered more than gypsies, and still, for the most part, we're model citizens. So bollocks to them, no-one's forcing them to behave the way they do.

There are two derogatory terms used in our society WRT raw financial deals.. 'jewed' and 'gyp'

In fact I used to say stuff like 'he jewed me down to $2' without even knowing what I was saying. As soon as I realized it, I stopped.

Also, it just dawned on me after reading this thread that saying things like 'aww, what a gyp' after buying something worthless is a racial slur. It's just such an ingrained part of language that people don't make the connection.. and that fact there aren't any gypsies around. It's the Kleenex of insults.
