Bobby Lashley and Dave Batista, but neither have fought in the UFC. Lashley being the better of the two.

Why is that? Aside from it being obvoiusly fake.
Do you think you could do what they do, often while injured, week after week?
This attitude always irks me, as if the ones that say they "have no respect for professional wrestling" would last ten seconds in the ring with Brett Hart in his prime, just as one example.

Just because it's scripted doesn't mean they aren't actual wrestlers.

I recognise this, I have no respect for the "sport" they claim professional wrestling to be, I have no respect for the gimicks they use and the fact that it is so obviously scripted, the athletes themselves yeah I couldn't do what they do, I respect their endurance, their athleticism and their obvious desire for competition even if it is in something I don't respect as a whole

back to the subject at hand

not sure how recent the UFC event I was watching is but BJ Penn was made to look like an amateur by Rory Macdonald (I think that's right), Shogun was decent against Gustaffson and next is Henderson v Diaz

fair enough.

I need to start watching MMA again, been on a self imposed sabbatical for over a year now; got really fed up with shelling out 50 clams to watch half the fights resemble a game of patty cake.
Current (well, at least since I stopped watching) favorite (UFC) fighter is Nate Diaz, I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for any upcoming fights.

Nate fights Henderson in the event I was watching earlier, I hadn't watched any MMA stuff since UFC 73 so I'm only just now getting back up to speed, favourite fighter is, and has been since I first saw him fight, Anderson Silva

@pro wrestling: I loved it as a kid. I have friends who still love it these days, but it just comes off as awkward when I try to watch it now. I like my dude drama, a little more mature, like Sons of Anarchy or something. The drama in pro wrestling seems kinda bitchy. I love watching pro wrestling, but I miss the ol' days. Maybe my view is distorted with nostalgia, but Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Jake the Snake, the Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger, those guys were awesome. I have heard that Kurt Angel is an amazingly kind person, but yeah the NWO, that was the downfall of pro wrestling in my eyes.

Good fight, thanks, especially the third round.

Diaz just couldn't get it together against Henderson.

This shit is classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=CST ... =endscreen

BJ needs to retire like Wally said. And I kinda don't like how MacDonald can be so big and cut down for Welterweight. I'd be curious to see how GSP looks standing toe to toe with him. Maybe Penn's size made the guy look bigger, but he just looked huge.

And Henderson is so strong for his weight class. I love the guy.

the two fights I really want to see happen (and they're probably about the least likely fights ever)

Anderson Silva v GSP
Anderson Silva v Jon Jones

Those are big money fights. They'll happen at some point. Someone will get greedy, whether it's one of the fighters or Dana succumbing to somebody's demands because he knows he'll make it back. There was talk for a while about a fight in May at the Dallas Cowboys stadium. If they could fill that place up, damn they'd make bank I bet.
