The Big White - surprisingly good. sort of like if Death To Smoochie's black comedy-meets-weird thriller was good instead of being the most impressively bad movie ever.

Yes, I liked it. Makes up for Patch Adams. And agreed with K & R on B3.

Ushpizin – An Israeli film about Orthodox Jews, title translating roughly as ‘special guests’. I think it’ll freak most of you filthy goyim out, but it’s worth tracking down if you’re interested in seeing more into a foreign culture than bags of gold. People such as the ones in the film are the only reason I have any respect for those who do believe in a deity, faith can be a beautiful thing - just because I’m too jaded to put my trust in Gawd doesn’t mean others can’t.

North Country – Well, at least it had SEAN BEAN in it…

The Squid and the Whale – Pretty funny, in a subtle sort of way. Jeff Daniels is good. Feels quite like a play, rather than a film, so if that kind of thing grabs you, watch this.

Freedomland - Depressing. Sam Jackson's hat carries the film.

That film fucking owns, best Jap film I have seen in a long time. They aren't going to hell silly boy, is just the Japan of the future.

Great film. Check out L2DK if you haven't seen that yet, both it and Hellavator came out of the same "movie" search in Japan.

Hmm, when she climbs up the ladder at the end and finds herself in France, that's my idea of hell...

(only joking)

Crank - very fun to watch, it's funny with loads of action. It's a great B-movie. 8/10

Chopper – Made me want to speak with an Aussie accent for at least half an hour after it was finished. Not bad, not that great. I take it this is like Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels for you lot?

Natural Born Killers – This is worth seeing on DVD just for the deleted scene that has a young-looking Ashley Judd getting stabbed with a pencil. I can see what Stone was trying to do, and to a certain point I can agree, but whatever crisis point that he was implying will soon be upon us, seeing it as he was from 1993 or whenever, either seems to have passed unnoticed or never happened at all. Is the world now a better place than 13 years ago? Not that I can tell…

The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada – Pretty damn good, Barry Pepper was excellent. I love these experimental Westerns.

NBK is a good movie.

Hey Rio, have you seen Rubbers Lovers? I highly recommend you check that out. Are you a fan of Tetsou? I like it ok but if you like that vibe you need to check out A snake in June. One my all time faves and maybe the most erotic movie I have ever seen.

I just watched this last night. Great movie. The best adaptation I've seen. What's up with Keira Knightley when she smiles? She looks downright evil! Like and evil little pixie or something. Anyway, excellent movie.

Gay jokes will get you banned.

i'd hit it (Keira Knightley)!

actually the movie wasn't all bad, considering the book it was based on. maybe it's because i'm ultra-macho but couldn't get into it.
