Niemi with another shutout. That was huge. No way the Hawks lose this series now. They've got the momentum and they're going back home. Time to put the Preds away.

to play devils advocate here, the last time the Hawks shut-out the Preds they lost their next game 4-1

If Finland would develop as many skaters as goaltenders their national team would be scary!

speaking of Finnish goalies, the Leafs signed 22 year old Jussi Rynnas on Wednesday. Rynnas put up good numbers this past season, but now that he's a Leaf he's a bum.

The Leafs beat out 4 other teams to get Rynnas. Philly and Dallas were his other top 2 choices. When Rynnas was doing his North American tour to try and decided where he would sign, he didn't even come to Toronto, Burkey flew to Finland and Montreal to meet and try to sell Toronto to him. Burke is a genius.

The Hawks' comeback blew my mind. Nashville must be a broken team after that.

stupid work has made me miss a lot of games lately

I do know that the Senaturds are out and so are the Avs.

there will be some intense games tonight, that's for sure. Hopefully Montreal can get the boot and LA tonight, so the 2nd roud becomes more clear. Nothing against LA or anything, I just don't think they have what it takes to win the cup this year. Still a few years away, where this is Vancouvers time.

Wow 2 Quick goals, pun intended. Canucks win 4-2 and win the series 4-2. If Chicago beats Nashville then they will meet the Canucks making for a nice re-match from last playoffs.

Luongo got better and better as the series went along and Quick got worse and worse. Luongo definitely stole this game but that's what good goalies do.

Overall I'm very happy with the season and I hope and think this was the first of many playoff appearances for the core of this team. I think the Kings have finally arrived.

Unfortunately, Sens and Avs are out. Goddamn that third period collapse for the Sens. Unfortunately, Detroit has to go to a game seven now. Superfortunately, the Habs are going to game six! Woo! Also kudos to Vancouver.

Hoooooooly shit. We may have not deserved that one, but I'm sure as hell happy with it! Go Halak! Too bad he couldn't get the shutout, but it is ridiculous how many amazing saves he made.

Hopefully next game our players will learn to clear the puck again, though. And hopefully the refs will call less bullshit things. Okay, that first Lapierre penalty was definitely a dive, and I can see them being extra wary with him because he's such a dirty player and prick. But Gionta, really? Especially when Washington got the tripping penalty?

Anyway, go Habs go! Game 7, let's do this!

Sabres done, Preds done, Jacques Lemaire retired from coaching, and two game 7's in two days.

If Washington don't take this series I will be baffled. Way to blow all your guns in the regular season.

if Ovechkin could score at a regular pace, like Corsby, and Semin could just score at all then this series was over in 4 or 5 games. But, neither are scoring consistently, and Halak has been insane.

I really thought Luongo was going home at night to cuddle with his gold medal and be content with all he's already accomplished this year.

But then again, the NHL playoffs feel somewhat anticlimatic after that Gold Medal game. I'm sure as it progresses it'll feel more exciting.

are you nuts?

this may possibly be the best first round ever. everything is just so intense. every hit, blocked shot, turn over, pass up the middle, etc is just so awesome and scary at the same time.

olympics = overrated, playoffs = best ever
