Alexander Gustafsson vs. Gegard Mousasi to headline UFC on Fuel TV 9.

Here come the top-end Strikeforce guys. I think Gus wins this and sends Mousasi back to middleweight.

He had his chance against Dan Hendsrson, got knocked the fuck out.

Had a second chance against Chael Sonnen, got grinded out for 3 rounds.

He got one final change against Vitor Belfort, and he gets knocked the fuck out again.

Goodnight Michael Bisping. The gateway division is calling you.

Too bad. I was kind of enjoying the thought of Anderson Silva completely picking him apart.

I don't think it would of been a pick-apart, more of a one punch and its over type thing. Actually, I would of liked to see that.

People actually thought Bisping had a chance against Silva  could barely touch Belfort.

Belfort needs to fight Silva again. He wants Sonnen and Jones, but he's got 3 straight stoppage wins at 185, 2 got knockout of the night and 2 came in the first round. He should get the next shot, or be a win away from the rematch. My opinion obviously, but who's left at middleweight besides Weidman?

Hector Lombard I guess if he can have an impressive showing against another contender.. But yeah, middleweight is pretty bare at the moment. Unless there are any good Strikeforce guys on their way.

Lombard has Okami next, a win there should get him into contention. What about Cung Le? Has back-to-back wins, over a former title challenger and champion, big knockout to boot, I know he's old and would still have to win 2 maybe 3 more against very tough guys, but he and Silva throwing kicks at each other would be fun to watch.

Strikefore has their champ, Rockhold, but I think he will be at 170 in the UFC. If Mousasi drops down, he'll be an instant challenge and an exciting match-up. The wild card is former champ Jacare, he is dominant, and good everywhere, but he and Silva either use to or still do train together and I doubt will fight.

Apparently if Rashad Evans beats Lil Nog, he'll be on the short list of middleweight title challengers.

TUF 17 debut tonight. Some new concepts. Should be an exciting season, but really I can't wait to see Chael P. Sonnen "get rid of Jon Jones".

A local guy from my small hometown is on the show, Tor Troéng :)

He made it into the house, woo! I've seen him fight 3-4 times, he usually wins by decision or submission by out-wrestling and grappling his opponent. Not the most exciting fighter but solid in all areas and by european standards a pretty good wrestler.

Training with the undisputed light heavyweight and middleweight champion, his words, Chael Sonnen, his gappling will improve a lot. He better get some hammer fist stoppages.

I'm bored so I might watch that episode. Haven't watched since it was Penn as coach.

Scratch that. No streaming links.

Anybody watch Fox 6?

Seeing Lamas beat down Erik Koch like that was crazy. Koch was suppose to be the guy to dethrone Jose Aldo.

What about Anthony Pettis making Cerrone look like an amateur? I don't think I've ever seen a fight end with a kick to the gut. As soon as they met in the middle and Pettis hit Cerrone with that right hand, I knew Showtime was gonna win. Now he waits for the winner of Bendo-El Niño.

Rampage is washed up. Yeah, he can still throw a mean hook and uppercut, but he's too damn slow and one dimensional. If this was a 5 round fight, Teixeira would of got the finish.

And anybody who said the flyweight title fight was boring needs to watch boxing or find a new sport. That was 25 minutes of non-stop action. And the Magician almost upset the champ, but Might Mouse held on and came on strong in the last 2 rounds.

What about Guidas featherweight debut taking a split decision over the highly touted Hatsu Hioki. Or Ryan Bader making 2 straight wins with his submission over Vladimir Matyushenko. I think The Janitor needs to retire, but he'll probably fight and lose one more and then retire. And lastly the good ol Canadian boy TJ Grant moves to 4-0 at 155 with the dominate shellacking of Matt Wiman. I can see Grant fighting Jamie Varner or maybe Jim Miller next.

And best of all, we still got UFC 156 next Saturday.

Picks?

Guida... Not too long ago maybe the most entertaining fighter in the UFC, now another lay and prayer. Hioki beat his ass both standing and on the ground so he ended up just grabbing and holding him down for two rounds. I wish they'd change the way they judge the fights, control is everything and it's not fun. Hioiki looked great, dynamic and aggressive both standing and off his back, had a constant flow of submission attempts but still lost. Smart of Guida, sure, but fuck that.

Pettis did what I expected him to do, only faster than I thought he would :) The Koch blood geyser was pretty epic, Lamas looked good. And the title fight was great, Dodson won the first two but Mighty Mouse came back and outworked him for the last three to earn the decision.

Couldn't find the whole fight on youtube, Lamas v Koch, but saw the finishing move and it was just nasty looking. ugh.
