Lastly, it's fight week! Picks?

I'll do mine later in the week. But I'll pick Renan Barao right now.
Barao is two weeks from now. And I don't recognize any of the names. And I don't have Fuel and it starts at midnight. Fuck that.

You're right. Then right after is UFC 157. My brain needs time to reset.

1. Title fight.
2. It's actually on at 2 pm, then replays later in the day.
3. Doesn't matter if you know the names, a good fight is a good fight and there are always good fights on Fuel cards.
4. Bar
5. Stop being a bitch

Looking over that card again and holy shit! It's stacked for a free card.
Swanson-Poirier will be an amazing fight. Manuwa will crush Diabate. Nelson should crush Santiago. Te Huna-Jimo should definitely end in knockout, not to mention both set records in their last fight. Not to mention guys like Terry Etim and Rene Forte on the undercard!!

Don't judge a book by its cover my friend, this is a stacked card.

If it's on at a decent hour here, I'll go see it, but the internet was telling me midnight. I'm not going to go out to a shit bar that closes at 2 to watch something that starts at midnight.

Pretty huge announcement made today:

Former WEC Lightweight champion Anthony "Showtime" Pettis has officially dropped down to featherweight (145 lbs) and will fight former WEC and current UFC Featherweight champion José Aldo Junior in August.

The UFC is really pushing "superfights" this year, and this like Aldo-Edgar, will be billed as such. The last true superfight was when GSP fought BJ Penn last. But still, this will be an amazing fight and besides the weight cut, I truly think Pettis can win this.

Anybody see the knockout on TUF last night? The same, yet more brutal, as the Edson Barboza on Terry Etim kick. Dude laid unconscious for 4 minutes breathing really weirdly. Uriah Hall, guy who threw the kick, quickly went from celebrating to almost crying standing in the cage with the guy.

I caught the following drama before Justified came on. I really need to start turning the TV on fifteen minutes before so I can catch the fights on TUF. Going to Youtube that.

That's fucking brutal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS05kQkmbwQ

If Gustafsson can beat Mousasi at Fuel TV 9 then he will fight the winner of Jon Jones-Chael Sonnen for the title.

I'm sure if Mousasi wins then it will go to the winner of Hendo-Machida, who fight next weekend. But if Sonnen miraculously pulls off the upset, then I'm sure there will be an instant rematch between Jones and Sonnen, thus ruining the plans laid out.

But Jones can beat Chael while blind-folded and with one arm tied behind his back. His words.

Also Cain Velasquez will defend his title for the first time in a rematch with Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva at UFC 160. Former champ Junior Dos Santos will fight Alistair Overeem in the co-main event.

Also, Vitor Belfort will welcome the final Strikeforce middleweight champ Luke Rockhold into the UFC which will most likely be a #1 contenders match.

Former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight champ Miesha Tate has signed with the UFC and will fight fellow newcomer Cat Zingano in what will be the 2nd female fight in UFC history. UFC also signed undefeated Olympic medallist Sarah McMann and Alexis Davis to its female roster, they are expected to fight each other somewhere down the line.

Flyweight champion Demetrius Johnson will look for his 2nd title defence against the undefeated John Moraga at the TUF 17 finale.

Other big fights announced:
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Travis Browne
Phil Davis vs. Vinny Magalhaes
Ryan Couture (son of legendary Randy Couture) vs. Ross Pearson
Chad Mendes vs. Clay Guida
Connor McGregor (making UFC debut, held bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight titles in his old organization all at the same time) vs. Marcus Brimage (undefeated in the UFC)

I seem to have heard that promise before. I'll believe it when I see it. Didn't he say that if Hendo won he'd be first in line too?

I'm just reporting what Dana White said a few hours ago.

I think the winner of Hendo-Machida should be #1, and maybe winner of Gus-Mousasi fights Lil Nog or winner of upcoming Phil Davis-Magalhaes match-up. But that's just me.

This I find interesting. I don't see Bigfoot standing a chance. And I'd kinda like Overeem to not be a pompous ass. And Dos Santos to not look like a joke. Color me intrigued.

Also pretty excited about next weekend's lady bout.

No joker can take a 25 minute beating like he did.

That match should have been called in the first round. He wasn't defending himself. Watching him be pummeled for 25 minutes after trying to explain to the girl that came with me to the bar how humane MMA is was so awkward.

Title fights don't get stopped unless you're actually done. He kept getting up, and coming back. I don't think he was a joke, I think he's got balls of steel and is one tough fucker. And I think he's gonna knock Overeem out cold.

And MMA is still more humane than boxing or even racing.

No doubt boxing. I don't know the comparison to racing. But yeah, MMA is safe for the most part. Dos Santos has guts, but that was sad to watch. I just didn't see him able to surmount a defense, neither was Velasquez putting him down either so props to the guy. It was rough watching though.

No 20 car pile ups and risk of cars exploding in MMA.

JDS admitted that he didn't think Velasquez' striking would be so good, that's why he had his hands low and got caught early in the first. When you have a 240 pounder hit you like that and you still continue for 25 minutes is damn impressive. I'm sure if he didn't get rocked, his ground defence would of been a little more spectacular. Not saying the outcome would of been any different, as Cain dominated him regardless, but it may of not been so one-sided. We will eventually see the trilogy fight and I am sure it will be the best one yet as both fighters know what the other can bring and withstand.

Jacob Volkmann, Vladimir Matyushenko, and Jon Fitch amongst 16 fighters who were cut by the UFC on Tuesday.

Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman targeted for July.

Silvas 16-0 in the UFC vs Weidmans 5-0 mark.

Personally, I think this will be one of his biggest tests. Weidman is big, strong, can strike, is a world class wrestler and has submissions to boot. Weidman won't just tap Silva on the forehead like Sonnen did, Weidman will be looking to decapitate Silva with elbows from the half-guard/guard position.

My most anticipated fight of the year so far, that and Hendo-Machida which goes down this Saturday.

I would ask for picks, but nobody here cares anyway.
