Idk how to make picks on the ladies, but I guess I'll go with Rousey. She seems like a beast. Machida over Hendo, he just won't be taken down and I don't see Hendo out-striking him in terms of technical skill. Koscheck over Lawler. Faber has the reach. McGee insofar as he kinda needs the win or he is going to get the boot.

Rousey, The Dragon, Butt Chin, McGee, Kos.

The Dentist is no joke though, and The Crusher will be making his 170lbs debut, so weight cut has to be considered.

I didn't realize McGee was dropping down. Damn.

Have you seen any of Rousey's fights? Apparently she averages wins in a minute and a half...

Watched her last couple on Strikeforce. Yeah, she judo throws you, mounts you, armbars you. Fight over. Only Meisha Tate has made it late in a round.

Carmouche is a tank, ground and pound style fighter, she says she wants to keep it standing and see if Rhonda can take a punch. We'll see.

Just watched three Rousey fights and she is a fucking beast. Some woman tried standing with her, I think Tate, and she just sidestepped punches got in and close and went for the throw. She is a beast. And how she just throws her legs to control the fight and get the arm bar is awesome.

The way things have been going for the UFC lately I wouldn't be surprised if she fucking lost. I hope not obviously.

You say that as if things are going bad. Are they? The only thin wrong with the UFC right now is a couple guys fighting for the title who haven't earned it in the cage. But there's a good reason for most of them. Whether you buy the reasons or not is a different story. At the end of the day the UFC is a business and businesses exist to make money. Yeah they just cut 16 fighters, which could be taken as a sign of things going not to plan, but remember they just fused Strikeforce into their roster, thus adding a bunch of new fighters.

Maybe it was just weird wording on your part, but I think the UFC has never been better.

The scary thing about Rousey is she can take anybody down and submit them, this much we know. But her striking has come so far since her early days, which arguably she's still in her early days, but I think she may try and trade some punches with Carmouche just to show off her new skills, then take her down and break her arm.

Dana White says that the winner of Hendo-Machida will get the winner of Jones-Sonnen, and if for whatever reason Hendo or Machida can't fight Jones then Alexander Gustafsson will get the next shot depending on if he beats Mousasi.

What will actually happen is Hendo will win a tough decision over Machida, get hurt and won't fight for the title. Gustafsson will lose to Mousasi in unspectacular fashion, and Jones will crush Sonnen leaving no immediate title challenger. Except... Anderson Silva after he knocks out Chris Weidman.

Fingers crossed. I don't see Gustafsson threatening Jones. And Sonnen? Fuck Sonnen.

Sonnen and Gus would both likely get submitted by Jones. That's been both fighters weakness since joining the UFC. It will take some crazy striker or jiu-jitsu ace to beat Jones at 205. He needs to move to heavyweight and fight anybody. Big Country, Mir, JDS, Overeem, Struve, anybody. Those fights will be challenges for him, I think.

Once, they get this Silva fight over with. Struve v Jones sounds awesome. And him getting down with Big Country would put a smile on my face. I think it'll take a while for him to have the size to stand toe to toe with somebody as big as Overeem, but him and JDS would be tough.

Don't forget that Randy Couture made a career of pushin around much bigger heavyweights. I know they weren't Alistair Overeem, but Tim Sylvia is huge and everybody forgets that he was controlling Lesnar in the first round of their fight until Brock caught him with that lunchbox fist. All I'm getting at, if Jones wants to fight at heavyweight, he's got to fight the big guys too. Not just the Pat Barry's and Dave Herman's of the division.

Flyweight Champion Demetrius "Mighty Mouse" Johnson is out of his scheduled title fight against John Moraga due to injury. Not sure if the fight is outright cancelled of just delayed. Bantamweights "The California Kid" Urijah Faber and Scott "Young Guns" Jorgensen will fight in their spot.

Also Matt Riddle was cut by the UFC yesterday after an 8-3 run in the octagon. Tested positive for marijuana after his last two fights. He will probably be back someday.

When is this fight scheduled that Faber is already going at it again?

They fight at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, which will be an FX card, and will be headlining the night, so probably 5 rounds. April 13th is when it happens.

Pretty awesome free UFC card tonight. My picks for the main card:

Stann, Struve, Sanchez, Okami, Yahya, Kim.

Also, longtime middleweight and one of the better MMA fighters to come from Canada, Jason "The Athelete" MacDonald officially retired yesterday. He had 25 wins, 19 by submission 3 by knockout for one of the best finishing percentages in MMA. Too bad he also had 16 losses to go with those 25 wins.

I really want to see Struve fight, but I don't know if I'll be excited to get off my couch and go see it.

My picks look the same, 'nuts.

Pretty good card to be honest, one of the better ones that aren't PPVs.

You guys are really picking Okami over Lombard? I don't see it. It'll be a close match, but if Hector lights him up from the go then he's got it. If not, he'll just be gassed.
