Dealing with the salary cap with long contracts seems like it could turn out badly in the long term although it'll be kinda cool seeing lots of the same players on a team for extended periods of time.

Such an awesome game tonight! Played very similar to last game, but with a bit more net presence, a better PK and this time the bounces went our way. Hopefully this (and some of the weaker third line goals) will shake Leighton's confidence and we can get some momentum going. Go Habs go!

That's what the Flyers coaches get for wearing matching orange ties. Goofy motherfuckers.

Playoff hockey is so awesome. There isn't another sport that could literally put me on the edge of my seat for two straight games like this Hawks-Sharks series has so far.

The Hawks are road warriors, so I'm a little worried about them actually playing a home game, which hasn't happened in a long time.

I'm of the opinion after watching the Hawks dismantle Vancouver and take it to the Sharks that the Stanley Cup is theirs to lose. They look pretty unstoppable right now.

Agreed. And as a neutral fan, I'd be happy if they won. I enjoy watching them, this 'Hossa curse' nonsense can be put to bed, and someone so improbable as Niemi being the cupwinning goaltender would be pretty cool.

I hope they make it to the finals then lose just for Hossa's sake.

Why? I just don't understand the appeal. Is he some sort of archvillian?

I think it would be funny if he were a jerk, but last time I checked, he wasn't close buddies with Putin or something.

Well, he wasn't in the top 30 in scoring this year...but yeah he is a heck of an all-around player! I'd sure want him on the Bruins.

putting up points is not always the most important thing in hockey.

Not to mention has been the best forward in the playoffs and was the best in the olympics, plus he's only 22.

Don't forget the concussion during the season.

yeah, I doubt they're the kind of team that can come back from a 3-0 game deficit. Plus, the quality of the other team is too great for them to be beat 4 times in a row.

Hope you like your shark steak well done :P

Agreed, agreed, agreed. I wouldn't call him top 5 regular season, but the guy is made of 'clutch' and 'win'. I can't think of any player I'd rather have in crunch time.

Two weeks ago, nobody would have ever thought that Philly could come back from a 0-3 deficit and take the series, myself included. Two weeks ago, according to DW, Boston was a clear lock to win the East. Hey, I'm not saying that it's likely that San Jose will win four in a row. I mean, it's a near statistical impossibility for it to happen twice in the same decade, let alone year, and Chicago is a damn great team. But San Jose looked pretty good out there tonight. And these playoffs should have taught us all to expect the unexpected. We'll see what happens, eh?

True but but Chicago ain't Boston, they are in all aspects superior
and they are much healthier than the Bruins were when it all crumbled.

+1

when Boston lost 4 straight they were down Krejci. That may not sound like much, but he gets hurt and they lose 4 in a row. He doesn't have the name power like Savard, but he was the key to their offence. Where Chicago has Toews, Kane, Hossa (who isn't scoring but is still a threat), Byfuglien, Sharp, etc.. not to mention the power on the back-end like Keith, Seabrook, and Campbell.

Chicago will not collapse.

I agree. The Sharks put forth their best effort last night and still couldn't get it done. I haven't watched a lot of Sharks games recently, but I know they're a pretty good team. (Better than my poor Canucks, for sure!) But there's just something about Chicago that makes me think they're on their way to claiming the Cup. No way in hell Sharks win four in a row against them.

And no offense to the east, but I don't think either team matches up well against the Hawks.
