There was a lady in Wells (town from the picture) who ordered knitting supplies in May and they still hadn't arrived by August! Although I think that was more a problem with the website she ordered from (seemed pretty lo-fi).

It never fails, people whine and complain that they aren't getting enough hours so you offer them shift after shift and they continually turn it down. Why are people so fucked? Eventually I'm going to offer you nothing and put somebody in your spot who says yes. Nothing will keep your boss more happy than just saying "Yes."

did you ask them why they turn down the extra hours?

yoga class #2 on saturday. for the first time in over 10 years i managed to cross my legs like one over the other. the lotus position or something. took a lot of effort but it was encouraging.

on sunday we had lunch at the market and then i went for a piss. many of the people in the restroom were employees of the various market restaurants, you could tell from their shirts. most of them didn't wash their hands. one of them caught me staring and looked me back in the eye as he walked out. he knew that i knew and he didn't give a fuck. this probably happens all the time in many places, but i really wish i hadn't seen that.

question. like, if you north americans met a brit or australian or south african or whatever living in your country, would you expect them to change their accent to yours? brazilians tell me to use their accent and i'm like no way, jose. i already use their words for stuff, i'll be damned if i'm changing my accent too. it's weird when i go out with other portuguese people, they talk to me normally but then switch to this awful adapted accent when speaking to the locals. i've seen really long term immigrants lose their original accent, but that's different.

i don't know what's worse. speaking in a horrible adapted accent that sounds like you're making fun of the way the locals talk, or speaking slowly and loudly, almost like the listener is retarded (we have to, 'normal' portuguese can be very hard to understand). normal? iberian? european? continental? you know what i mean.

i've never seen a brazilian change (or be asked to change) his accent in Portugal, not would i ever ask that of one.

Don't change your accent unless they can't understand you. Fuck that. It's probably a widespread practical joke on foreigners. Faked accent is equally as noticeable as a foreign accent.

Thinking of putting some patches on this jean jacket I have. Will that make me look like a poser? I mean, the whole purpose of patches is to broadcast which bands you like, right? So what's the point if no one believes you actually listen to the music?

Patch it the fuck up! Got a PD patch on my leather jacket, a Panopticon patch on my canvas jacket. I'm not one to rock the classic thrash metal denim jacket covered in patches, but if you got a denim jacket bedazzle that shit with a Dio patch.

Tomato soup with onion, mushroom, kale, black beans, and avocado; a half-mug of carbernet sauvignon; two dollops of Belgian chocolate; and Furtwangler's Mozart on the stereo. Tonight will be a good dinner.

Now see, that would be fine if I wasn't 17 and female. I happen to care very much about what people think. It's a product of three years of high school, I think.

Yo people,

Trying to check back in here regularly, been away for various reasons, not going to go further into that.

Anyway, what is up? As far as my metal tastes go, I`ve been trying to explore territories I never really got into or disliked since I was about 15. In other words, power metal. Kind of failed at that, but I actually listen to bands like Kiuas, Nocturnal Rites and an Edguy song here and there. Also checking out youtube playlists regularly. Other than that..

OVERKILL

I`ve also been extremely busy at school. Not going to bother you with that though.

Hope you all are well. Cheers!

RD, go for it. are your qualms about potentially coming off as a poser because most 17 year old girls aren't into metal, or because most people in your school (i guess) think it's silly? either way screw'em.

noods good shit. do you cook everything yourself? i really wanted to cook more since i started living alone, but i get home late and with no one to eat with me i just can't be bothered. i eat cereal/and or salad for dinner, because salad are like peel, chop it up, olive oil and vinegar and you're good to go. no cooking required.

Thomas, 'sup. listen to Kamelot god damn it. you might also dig Lost Horizon and Paradox.

my friend got tickets to Sao Paulo x Atletico Mineiro (two of the biggest football clubs in Brazil) tomorrow, and i can't go because i live over an hour away and public transportation sucks. bah.

That's the problem though, you're letting people at school dictate what you wear or don't wear. I understand that it is much different for females as opposed to males, but I didn't let the shit heads at my school dictate what I wore or did. Life's too short to worry about what other people think.

Indeed. Also punch the first dude who says anything in the back of the head. Prison style. What patches do you got?
