And this man, that changed the team mentality.

'Broche' in Portuguese means blow-job lol.

must be infuriating to play Barcelona, their ball possession is unlike anything i've ever seen, they easily got 30-40 consecutive passes everytime they had the ball! it must be like playing pig in the middle!
Barça were the better team last night and the better team in Europe overall this season, so this is a deserved victory despite what happened in Stamford Bridge.

on a different note, this season was the last for two people who left a bright mark on The Beautiful Game:

24 years and over 900 matches for one club. like December Flower said: RESPECT

and the fantastic Luís Figo, the best Portuguese player i ever saw play:
Image
a career always at the highest level, with Barcelona, Real Madrid Inter Milan and, er, Sporting :P, plus a great career with the national team.
i undestand why he may be hated in Barcelona, but it doesn't change the fact that he was an amazing player.

they will be missed!

I don't hate him... He is a great player, but also a mercenary. (Parma & Juve knows that fact too). I just have more respect for Maldini or Nedved.[/img]

so Real Madrid just made 2 of the most expensive transfers in football history in under a week, signing Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo. the 4 biggest transfers are theirs: CR, Zidane, Kaka and Figo, plus i'm quite sure Ronaldo and Anelka's transfers are also on the top-10.

they still need to sign at least one centre-back and one centre/defensive midfielder (i'm thinking Xabi Alonso),

First they're gonna sign Villa. Then they'll try with Ribery, and that will be a great mistake, playing together CR, Kaka, Ribery, Villa (& Raul) is just ridiculous, the team will break in the middle (that happened in Barça with Messi, Ronaldinho, Eto'o & Henry).

And as we (Barça fans) are saying these days:
Ronaldo & Kaka: 165.000.000€
Messi, Iniesta & Xavi: 0€

(Ronaldo transfer is the 10 one, 45M. Anelka one is not in the top-10)

hmm, though Anelka was, as he was at some point the most expensive ever. still insane, though.

Crazy money for crazy times. But will they all play well together?

Instead of Ronaldo they could have bought the whole of Newcastle United.

Benfica just signed Jorge Jesus as manager.

Quique Flores was very disappointing, but it wouldn't kill us to keep a coach for TWO CONSECUTIVE SEASONS, which is something we haven't done since 1992 or so. still, now that he's here he has my support. this is his first stint at a major club after good work with middle of the table/UEFA Cup spot portuguese clubs.

also, North Korea qualified for the 2010 World Cup (their first since 1966!) and i'm very happy for them. meanwhile Portugal are a fucking disgrace and frankly i don't think we'll qualify. Carlos Queiros is a complete retard.

Yeah, I can't believe that the US team beat Spain. That's really won't happen in 99/100 of the cases. I think they're in for an ass-whopping against Brazil though.

Benfica signed Javier Saviola for €5M, 3+1 years. at age 27 he's all but washed up, with Reyes and Aimar signed last year this is a worrying trend for Benfica. also his salary is probably huge... bah.

So much for an ass-whopping. What a game. US had their chance and blew it. Good to see they made it this far though.

And they were winning Brazil 2-0 in first half. But Brazil, (and this is not the better Brazil posible, I still can't believe they play with Gilberto silva & Filipe Melo together in midfield, it's an horrible combination) is hard to beat. Maicon, Alves, Kaka, Robibho & Luis Fabiano are really good.

Let's see the world championship... It will be more difficult for USA to get so far. I have doubts with Spain... if Iniesta & Silva are in good shape, and Xavi is not so tired, we can play a lot better. But I think Aragones is better trainer than Del Bosque, by far.

Brazil fought back hard and deserved to win, they were constantly pushing up forward. still a good game from the USA though, better than anything i've seen from fucking Portugal since Queirós became manager.

Portugal is so not going to make the World Cup. our best hope is second place and even so we need to be among the best second places to make the playoff. this is ridiculous, a team with players from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United, plus several players from Portugal's biggest clubs, is struggling agains the likes of Albania!

imo it's a problem of attitude and the coach:
the attitude sucks, Ronaldo thinks he's Figo and the other players think they're Ronaldo. as recently as 2000 we still only had 3 players in large European clubs - Figo, Rui Costa and Conceição at Barça, Fiorentina and Lazio respectively. everyone else came from the portuguese league and smaller european clubs like Oviedo and Standard Liege, there were no stars.

then the coach is a fucking retard, he plays Ronaldo near the center because he does it well at United, but forgets that there he has an excellent team behind him. with the national team, Ronaldo was always at his best playing on the wings.
his choices are also questionable at best - calling up players with zero portuguese league experience playing in bottom-of-the-table clubs in Spain and Italy (the guys from 2000 were well known and respected in Portugal) no one has ever heard of, and i'm not talking about youngsters either, i'm talking about fucking 27 year-olds who couldn't even make it in a Portuguese club.

sorry about the rant lol.
