womfg! Civil war in Belgium!
Well, possibly.
"Belgium? That's something that doesn't exsist." Python-esque.
pssh please, everyone is overreacting, the foreign press just acts like drama queens. Not a single journalist published an article without decent background. So you might wanna take this with some critic.
As an actual Belgian, what's actually happening?
During the last elections, the big winner was the CD&V, a 'christian' democratic and
flemish party. This victory was mostly thanks to the growing popularity of one man Yves Leterme, a son of a Walloon father and Flemish mother. Alas, the Walloons think of him as the man who want to split Belgium. This is propably since the CD&V work with the NVA, a nationalistic flemish party, of who lots of members have expressed the wish to make Flandres more independent of the Walloon part, or even make it a country. Now, during the negotionations for the new federal goverment, both sides(Flemish and Walloon) have pretty much been acting like little retarded children, leading to a political impasse for over a hundred days. This is pretty much the simple explenation. THe manifestations were by the way, anti-islamic and forbidden by the mayor of Brussels, therefor were the two rightwinged nationalistic politicians Dewinter and Van Hecke arrested, therefor getting their role of victims of discriminations by 'lefties' as usual.
