I did find Pirates of the Caribbean 2 to be too long; that whole island sequence really pissed me off because it was a complete waste of a half hour, even if it did have some funny moments. In any case, Captain Jack Sparrow is my hero, so I still really enjoyed it, even if they made some bad decisions (aforementioned island thing, bringing back every single character from the first movie, etc...) and I'm looking forward to the third.

I also didn't like how everyone seemed to converge all at one point (that town). A little too convenient. I mean, how big is their world?

Yeah exactly. Bringing back the love rival dude from the first film was asking for a lot of suspension of disbelief.

Mackenzie Crook and the bald guy from the first film had some really funny lines, but they also felt shoehorned in for the sake of familiarity.

I saw pirates 2 in theatres, it was WAAAY too long. My attention spand is about 20min then I need a break. They took the rum jokes way too far, to the point where it's not even funny. At all.

I think they took a lot of jokes that were funny in the first one too far (rum, Jack Sparrow lying/running from everything)... I still thought it was an entertaining movie though.

I thought Pirates 2 was very good. I don't know why you all are upset about them bringing the first guy back...I thought it was an interesting cliffhanger.

I know. I mean, how the fuck did they just happen on the ship in their little canoe? Pffft!

Taladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Saw this back when it was in theatre, so stoned I couldn't remember much. But I went and bought it today, and man it's funny. Everybody, even me, is saying Borat is movie of the year but this is a good competitor.

We watched the old '60s Batman movie in one of my classes today. The one with Adam West.

Oh my God.

Tladega Nights was funny but nowhere near as funny as some people said it was. it could've been much better if they hadn't limited Cohen's character.

Robin! Get the shark repellant bat-spray!

"What weighs six ounces, lives in a tree, and is very dangerous?"

A sparrow with a machine gun!

Ok fine, Borat is easily the funniest movie of the year. Buut Taldega Nights is a good second place. Clerks 2 I didn't find funny at all. But everyone I know thought it was "hilarious".

"No, Robin. We appear to be in tip-top shape. It'd be faster if we ran."
