i really really don't think so!
the ocean can contain as much as 50 times more Co2 than the atmosphere. When the ocean gets warmed up it emits Co2 into the atmosphere; meaning during the day it emmits Co2 and during the night it obsorbs the Co2 again. On a global scale it means that, when the average tempature in the ocean increases the amount of Co2 in the atmosphere increases too.. i'm not saying this is the only factor, though.
It is true that some scientist concluded from the test samples from the artic ice, or what ever, that there was some kind of connection between Co2 and global tempature. Other scientist points out that the development of Co2 production is several decades behind the temperature. It may be possible that the level of Co2 has cought up with the average global tempature due to human activities.
But... if Co2 was the mainfactor to global warming... then plz tell me why the global temperature decreased from 1940 to 1970 (some scientist believed we were headed towards a new ice age back then), while the level of Co2 increased along with polluting technology that we no longer use.
Many ppl underestimate to power of the sun. The sun is the most powerful source of energy we have on earth. If the sun was to dissappear there would be no chance in hell for us to warm up the earth - the tempature would drop to minus 273 degress in matters of days or hours, i dunno. Despite being the most realiable and powerful source of energy it is by no means a calm or steady source. The activity in the sun has a huge effect on our climate; sunspots, but also solar winds. The correlation between global tempature and the sun activity is greater than the one between Co2 and global tempature. And last time I checked Co2 on earth had no influence on the sun.
The annoying part about global warming is that it has become some sort of religion. I guess I am a heretic.
As for the industrialization of africa. I wrote what i meant pretty bad. Africa will get industrialized some day. The question is, do we let them do like us and use polluting and inefficient technology the first many years or do we aid them with a greener technology in order to benefit the rest of us?!
