Sitting down to my first Bloody Mary of the night and a movie... either Hard Times or Out For Justice, I think.

All piss in a can those are.
I totally believe that list. Old Milwaukee doesn't get distributed as widely these days, probably for that reason. I love me some High Life, but never touched light. If you're drinking the Beast, you don't give a fuck about calories. And Michelob? Everyone I know who drinks Mich drinks Mich Ultra, lesbians and frat bros, they all love how it tastes the same with like 45 calories.

Yeah, I believe it too. I won't be sorry to see a number of those beers on the way out, but I'm not really a fan of the craft beers any more than the majors.

Regional seem to be doing fine in the PA area anyway though, Genesee is readily available (and its plant in Rochester, NY is doing fine) despite the silly brewery trading that seems so prevalent these days. The home state regional, Yuengling, appears safe as ever, and is now spreading across the East, and Rolling Rock, though it is now made in NJ instead of Latrobe, PA, still tastes the same. Wish I could still get Straub out of St. Mary's, PA, but I'm too far east, but on the hand, National Bohemian, longtime sponsor of the Baltimore Orioles, is surprisingly easy to grab. Some of these (mostly) light beers are barely better than national equivalent, but I'm all for supporting regional beers that preserve some element of the differences throughout the country, and more importantly, my dad is sort of obsessed with it, and anything to make the old man easier to talk to, right?

Pig Destroyer drinks National Bohemian. Yuengling is quickly becoming a beer that I despise.

Good on Pig Destroyer! I understand why you are growing to despise Yuengling, but it still saddens me. They were in the shitter 30~ years ago.

Now that it has headed east everyone drinks like it's cheap when it isn't that cheap. It's at least as expensive as Bud Light or Miller Lite. Drink a fucking PBR or a High Life goddammit. Tastes better anyways. All the med students here drink that or Mich Ultra, which will always and forever be the lesbian beer in my book, so when I'm mooching it's what I get stuck drinking. And I'm always at a shitty party at someone's apt which doesn't help my memory association the next day when I'm all pouty about being stuck at the party drinking Yuengling.

the sheer volume of terrible things I've heard about budweiser I cannot believe people would actually drink it, then again fosters and west end are terrible and people drink them so I guess when it's cheap and you're desperate...

Fair enough, and I do like High Life.

RO, I don't think Bud is that bad, at least compared to most of their hundreds of other crappy beers. But worth the cost? Nah. The Fosters I had in this country was awful.

yeah that's just Fosters, some of my earliest drinking experiences were with Fosters and West End, that was enough to put me off beer completely for about three years, then I found one I liked (Crowne Lager), then found another I liked (KingFisher which is Indian and quite nice) then a couple months back in Thailand found another I liked (Singha, brewed in Bangkok), think next time I'm down the pub I'll just try a bunch of different beers
