I'm learning to play the bassline to Mayhem's "Life Eternal"! :D

THIS IS ABOUT TO BE:

WHAT bassline?

THIS HAS BEEN:
A joke you won't get unless you've listened to Mayhem's De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas.

Maybe you should listen to it again. The bass tracks were not really erased. Hellhammer just claimed that they were erased to make Euronymous' mother (who demanded that they should be erased) happy.

Listen to the break in Freezing Moon at 2:58 and tell me that's not a distorted bass.

The bass can also be clearly heard under the main riff in Life Eternal.

trying to memorize a song I wrote, and also trying to tear it apart so there's no verse chorus verse chorus bullshit to make way for atmosphere. it feels childlike. maybe that's because I'm not very technical, snarf.

I called my song "Hum of the Power Lines".. did I subconsciously rip that title off from somewhere?

Yes he is (was?) thats why i think rockbox is so lame (and i was also joking) he can do so much better than this happy "elevator" song.

Ok, so.. Em7, A7, Abm7, Ebm, Gmaj7, C7+9+stuff, Bm, Gbm.

where the hell did I steal that from? or should I now begin the variations upon the secret lizardtail chord progression? I kinda like the way that it doesn't touch the same bass note twice..

edit: Fbm? lol
edittt: this would be a good candidate for the general music section sorta thing

I'm on a prog binge right now, so I've been trying to play (on the drums) Circus Maximus, Pagan's Mind, Sieges Even, and Redemption, to name a few. Only other album in rotation that isn't prog is Pantera - Cowboys from Hell.

With singing I've been concentrating on the lower part of my range, so Blaze and Redemption have been my two most recent accomplishments. Every now and then I throw in Lost Horizon just to remember what I'm aiming for :D

I'm learning to play "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (on the bass, of course), only I have to slow it down by about half of its original speed, because Steve Harris is a bass monster.

Last thing i learnt to play was either the solo from silent night bodom night (on eletric) or jonny be goode

On the acoustic , under a violet moon- blackmoores night

but i try not to learn other people songs, only results in you losing originality in you own music
