Get some respect on the table, so when you lay a bet down, people respect it. Make it so that no one wants to play one on one with you.
I was chip leader in a game a few weeks ago, and everytime i put a bet down (pre flop), the rest just folded. Even when i just limped in, the person who was the big blind and could have checked to see the flop, he folded too.

I'll do this if i get the cards early on but things change a lot when there is only a few players left, it much harder to bully people because anyone can win it from any stack (to an extent) when theres about 3 play in it. So i try and make sure i have a play able stack when the time comes and then totally chance my playing style, people find it hard to play against when everything they found out about a player goes out the window.
