It's cheesy, it's bloody (realistic or not), and it has an 80's feel to it. Of course its going to be bad, but that is also what will make it so damn awesome! Who here loves the cheesy 80's action movies? I know I sure as hell do.

If seen from that perspective then I agree with you ness. It's just that I was hoping for something actually worthy of the money renting it or even worthy of the time spent watching it. Many other series marched with modern times/styles and newer effects and cinematography. Some of them flunked but several did amazingly well so I was thinking in that wavelength. If the makers of Rambo 4 really intend to create a trully 80s movie then I suppose that could possibly have its fanbase. But in that case I would not really expect a blockbuster making millions....

Pretty much all movies make millions... Anyway, it looks awesome. Stop saying stupid things.

It looks cheesy, and Stallone is a fat bitch he should just retire.

Rambo is supposed to be cheesy. It's not Citizen Kane.

Stallone has made some of the best action movies ever. Fucking Demolition Man. (How do you use the Three Shells?), First blood is an amazing movie - and actually very well acted. Check out the scene at the end when he goes back to town. That is good acting. And he wrote Rocky, which is awesome.

Exactly! And that's why I feel kinda disappointed with the trailer of Rambo 4 as it doesn't seem good enough for a Stallone action movie. If that was a Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal movie I'd say ok, no big expectations there anyway. But I expect more from Sly. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and the movie comes out much better than this trailer and it really rocks, who knows!

Anyone that thinks that that moment at the end of First Blood is good acting has never seen good acting in their lives. Stallone is a shitty actor, and expecting any depth from a film with him in is ridiculous.

But that bit where he jumped off the cliff (and broke all his ribs b/c he didn't want a stuntman to do it) is pretty cool.

STallone is not a shitty actor. WHen he tells Richard Crenna that he has "nowehere else to go", I feel for him. The acting is far from perfect and might even sound a little retarded, but the man is playing a trained killer, not a head of state or a classical orator. And if Stallone can make a person get into his character and give a shit then it is good acting. The level of intensity that he shows throughout that movie is impressive. The man has screen presence. He will never do Shakespeare - but i will watch Judge Dred, Demolition Man, Rocky, Rambo, and hell even Daylight (which is admittedly horrible, but entertaining) any day.

Plus - its fucking Stallone - not Anthony Hopkins. Get off his ass. Stallone might not be able to do "Legends of the Fall" but Hopkins isnt knocking out juiced up Russians by day and shooting arrows at guerillas by night. I also have heard that Stallone is into the glass bottom boat. I, for one am not a sex-feces fan, but at least he is willing to go that extra mile.

I'm nitpicky today.

As much as i like the man, as a huge fan of the Judge Dredd comics i would like to see Stallone publicly beaten for that one. Seriously, that movie is a fucking abomination.

Never read the comics - but I am sure you are right. We have all seen beloved stories raped up by Hollywood.

You felt for him? I didn't. Screen presence is extremely subjective, I thought the fella playing the sheriff was much better, and more sympathetic.

So I should feel sorry for him because you admit he's not that good an actor? Anthony Hopkins was a heavy alcoholic for much of his career, do your research. He has also done the odd action film as well, y'know.

1 - The sheriff was Brian Dennehy - Classic American tough guy actor.
2 - I didnt say Stallone was a bad actor - I just tried to make the point that he is not the type of actor to venture into artistic roles. He knows what he is capable of and he is good at what he does - he Entertains.
3 - What does Anthony Hopkins drinking problem have to do with anything that I said? Why dont you do your research into how to not sound like a prick everytime you have a point to make. Who the fuck needs to get a nasty tone in a thread about Rambo?

The moment where he unleashes a rambling story that makes absolutely no sense. "got blown into fuckin' pieces" was all I could make out from it.

1. Of course! *slaps head*
2. Oh, I'm not saying it isn't entertaining to watch him. Just challenging the fact that he's not a shitty actor - who says you have to be a good actor to be entertaining?
3. Well, you were the one that said Stallone is 'into the glass bottom boat'. Anthony Hopkins is a great actor, despite being a pisshead, so you can compare them more than you'd think. And I didn't mean to be nasty then, so if it came over like that please forgive me, although I'm sure I'm not that much of a prick whenever I make points...

All is forgiven. Stallone is obviously a hot-button topic and things can get emotional.

What?!

Judge Dredd is an awesome movie, one of my favourite sly movies...after Rocky of course.
Plus, it has some of the best Sly movie quotes of all time...

I AM....THE LAW!!
